I swear, Yoshi just randomly teleports sometime. I’ve even seen the AI Yoshi in (single player) shield slide clear across the stage just from microscopic contact with a Bob-omb, and it didn’t even explode either!

That actually always happens when yoshi lightshields a hit. It's very funny looking because you can't visually tell that he's lightshielding until it gets hit

I've had the second clip happen, pretty sure its because if you shine someone while knocked down they don't get put in hitstun for some weird reason? so the upwards momentum from the shine and the sheer height of falcos double jump (assumed they jumped to get out of the combo) just sent them into the stratosphere

Once shine is stale enough is when it happens

Yeah it's cuz of jablocking, jablocks happen based on damage not knock back so weirdness happens when a low damage and high knock back move like stale shine hits a missed tech opponent

@@shayboual1892 It's something that can happens in all Smash ,basically ,even after the hitstun end ,there a few more frame where you can get KO of the top ,so if your high enough and input a Jump soon after the hitstun end ,and reach the blastzone ,it will still KO you . Edit :But the number of frame where you can still get KO'd depends of which game it is ,and I believe it decreases with each edition ,SSB64 had the most ,Melee and Brawl approximatively the same ,can still happens frequently in Sm4sh ,greatly reduced in Ultimate ,but still doable . That's why when your above the screen ,you can't see the character anymore ,don't jump ,or you might die light that . Here it was Falco (Highest jump) on Yoshi Island (Lowest ceiling) ,so of course he was pretty visible when he jumped . (+ Of course ,he still had a bit of upward momentum which made him do an even bigger jump)

so in melee, you can lose a stock by jumping into the vertical kill screen?

In theory you can only lose a stock if you cross the vertical blast line while in hitstun or standing on a platform. Not sure why the red Falco died. Best guess would be it has something to do with the electric effect of Falco's shine and/or the shine being stale.
