This week Joseph Wang joins the show post FOMC to break down how markets are reacting to positive inflation data & Powell's press conference comments. As the U.S continues to run large fiscal deficits, Joseph outlines his thesis for why he expects stocks to continue crushing bonds in 2024 & why markets will actually crash up instead of down. Enjoy!

Currently I'm just being smart and frugal with my money, I'm in the green 47% over the last 23 months and l've accumulated over $70K in pure profits from DCA’ing into stocks, ETFs, dividends and futures. However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait.

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

completely agree. I have been consistent with my profit regardless of the market conditions. I got into the market early in 2019 and the constant downtrends and losses discouraged me, so I sold off. I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

So, I mean, we’re left with ambiguous results, and we have to deal with uncertainty around data.” He also states “There’s an argument that they may be a bit overstated” when referring to employment data. He also had body language and tone with that statement, but that is up for interpretation. Feel free to interpret that how you like, but I think it’s clear the Fed doesn’t take this particular data as completely precise. Powell made sure not to reference the White House explicitly, and I think he is trying to avoid being politically charged. So the data is not very trusted, but he did not speculate as to why.

Also, don't invest heavily in commodities, have exposure to them, but don't buy them just because they look cheap. The ability for this global economy to keep growing exponentially is quite limited. Demographically we are going to be slowing for quite some time. We all better hope AI provides productivity gains, or we're looking at a "depression" of awful economic growth for at least 2 decades.

Aren't the FFR and QT two complementary tools to tighten financial conditions and also give the Fed more wiggle room to reverse tightening when necessary? The Fed wants to cool the housing market but doesn't want to break the credit markets, so QT does that better than the FFR, no? QT is also below the radar, while the FFR is a headliner.

Why this obsession over rate cuts when the data doesn’t come close to supporting it. A cut would signal the economy needs help, it’s really not something to wish for. It's understandable that the current mass hysteria and panic are palpable. After all, we're not used to dealing with troubled markets. However, as you rightly pointed out, there are options available if you know where to look. Personally, I've been able to make a profit of over $850k in the last 10 months. It wasn't a complicated strategy that I used, I just knew that I needed a reliable and robust approach to navigate these trying times. That's why I hired a portfolio advisor.
