Stockton Railfest 2019: EMD Power Dominates the Diamonds 4-27-19

5 жыл бұрынBack in April of 2019, I found myself in Stockton attending an event called "Railfest," in which shenanigans and train watching are the order of the day. While I spent most of the day shooting the breeze with fellow railfans, I found out later, upon reviewing footage, that all the trains I did film were (for the most part) completely powered by EMD units.
Seen here are multiple varieties of EMD-led freights, with a UP SD40N and a BNSF SD70ACe being notable standouts. Enjoy.

What makes this better is the absolute lack of GE (Except on the second BNSF train), even though I'm a GE fan, it's nice to get a break from GEVO's. Awesome catches!

Thanks! There were plenty of trains with gevos too, but of course I ended up filming just these ones. I like seeing EMDs because of how many varieties there are still roaming the rails. Whereas with GE (out here) it's mainly 3 predominant types (gevo, dash 9, and AC44).

I moved to the Central Valley from Santa Rosa back in April. Been doing s lot more railfanning out here than I could do back home!

Dang wish they had not drowned out that sweet EMD sound with the horns. But it was still great!

Yeah, lots of crossings in the area make for lots of horn. Still nice seeing EMDs though. I was actually completely unaware that I had unintentionally filmed only EMD-led trains that day until I checked the footage.

if you want to look for more EMD engines the best area and spot i have had the most luck is the rail yard near the downtown St Louis areas. have found all sorts of goodies hidden! from a Santa fe engine to a shiny southern Pacific engine. to a war bonnet engine
