I'm from Detroit and swapped hellcats are VERY common. A lot of these people not only steal hellcats, but they pull out the engine and slap it into a mopar shell, then hide an airtag in that car so they can steal back the vary engine they just sold!! The cycle keeps going untill they get caught.

The insurance company will try to recover whatever possible from the claim.. the insurance pays out at least the value of it on the market so say 80-90k on a 120k hellcat redeye .thats to whoever got there car stolen from them. There's a lot of fraud claims done just like that tho. A fully stripped car and bye it back reassemble and you just got the car +cash . and if you got the parts that match up to that than it's nothing more than put in back together..

If it says v6 and that mofo is a high powered v8, yes sir, they will look for the vin or any other identifying marks they can find to see if that engine came from a stolen car.

Odb2 reports the vin that’s encoded in the cars ECU. This vin won’t match the body vin if the engine and ecu have been swapped. The ecu can be reprogrammed to report the body vin, but that usually takes specific knowledge and tools.

yeah some parts are from partouts. and some could be legit. the best way to get a cheap one is buy a salvage. its not hard to find cheap non-oem panels for these cars if you need them. but when it comes to profit stolen is best. Im not ashamed to say I got my challenger seats from a kid on facebook with stolen cars. his pfp was him pointing a glock at the camera but them seats were a sweet deal LOL

I'm in NC, was driving to Detroit to get a hellcat motor pedal all the parts $13,000.00! on my way I'm talking to a buddy who has a Demon with 6 miles on it he's legit, he says stop by when your here why you coming up? I tell him putting a hellcat in my Dart! he says you tell that guy you need a copy of the title and where his ins. totalled it, he said you'll lose your Dart! As I stated in on of your other videos. My Father and his friends did this all the time, But they went to junkyards to buy their engines. I remember Father swapping out a 396 for a 400 big block in hs 69 Impala. Then added a 4 barrel carburetor for that extra boost.

Hellcat engines have slowed being stolen due to supercharger kits available for the 5.7 and 6.1 , 6.4 for dirt cheap. Way less labor, time and frustation.

I mean, the insurance company isnt really losing out. If they think you have a 2008 v6 300c, you best bet you'll be getting a 2008 v6 300c payout too lol. Honestly, youd probably get only a little more if you actually told them. Modded cars are usually worth the same or less than a stock car in good shape. And its not improbable someone bought a hellcat with their 378 credit score, beat it to hell, toasted the tires off, then slid into a telephone pole when the next rain came 😂 Just like anything else, the better the deal, the more sceptical one should be.
