Ahhh, the ‘90’s, where if you missed a performance, you’d kick yourself in the ass because you didn’t know when it would air again.

Not a big fan but this song is gorgeous and eerie and might be their best. I don't think Scott is bisexual but he sure seems it here. And I mean that with no bite or any meanness. I could care less whatever he was, just sorry he was not happier while he lived.

Almost think this version is better than the album version, and to see them performing it is INSANE... Scott's exceptionally on point for this one, delivering from the beginning to every ounce of him drained out at the last word of the song. You can see the Bowie influence running strong in his choice of wardrobe, stage presence and mannerisms. Pure class. Thank you for sharing.

Yeah. I think I like this version better too. I like the strings playing the part that electric guitar would normally do. This is brilliant actually.

Sorry, but Scott was the last significant front man in the classic 4 piece rock band line up configuration.. There will never be another front man like that, let alone someone with as much charisma, uniqueness, stage presence, and style. He was Morrison, Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Lennon all mashed up together. Their new singer can never live up to that gargantuan reputation and eclipsing shadow that is Scott Weiland. He was a quadruple threat of singer, song writer, entertainer, and quintessential rock star, and had the potential to be a huge success as a solo artist, if he kicked that damn drug and alcohol problem, and if his whore of an ex wife didn't drain him for everything he had. Yes, he made mistakes, but he was human and needed help, that of which he didn't get as much as he should have. R.I.P Scott. To those of us who know good music and special musicians, you are not sorely missed, you are insanely, hopelessly, terribly missed..

Like many I was a big STP fan back in the day and then lost track of them. I casually listened to the VR stuff, but not like I did with STP. Then after Scott's death I poured through old vids of his performances and realized that he was one the great performers of our generation. I'm so sad that I never got to see him perform live. This vid is one of my favorites (thanks live2cd for posting). His game is so on point around this time (circa 2000)... clear-minded in interviews, so precise in his delivery, and such a vivid performer. The remarkable thing is that even toward the end in those small club gigs with the Wildabouts, despite being clearly affected by drugs and depression, his passion and dedication are still evident. And he still sings better than 95% of folks out there. We lost a great one. RIP Scott Weiland.

This absolutely my favorite tune by them and it seemingly came out of nowhere. Not really much like anything else they have done. Wish they would have produced more songs like this because in my opinion they could have really set themselves apart.
@Fauxjob4 жыл бұрын
Listen to Core then STP 4 (this), onto Shangri La De Da and you will hear the whole progression but understand that 9/11 was at the end of that,,, the industry changed too. They set themselves apart on the front end and then it was a work in progress from there, like most.

Still can't believe Scott Weiland is gone. I'm put off by the comments of "What a waste of life." I think people are missing the point. Guy was on top of the planet for a time, and had amazing talent; he simply couldn't overcome his demons. We are all facing our own personal apocalypses in one form or another, the only difference is how we choose to cope with it. We all still live our lives, none of which I would ever consider a "waste." I'll try my best to make those that are having a hard time coping with this crazy gift we call life, and help make the journey a little less painful along the way, however I can. I suggest everyone try to do the same!
