I am half African and half Jamaican and I can tell you that 70% of Patois is derived from English (Few Spanish/Latin) and about 30% of the words in Jamaican Patois originate and came from West African words that had been used in Africa for 100s of years before even Luciano was born. Words like “Deh” , “Unnu” , “Sey” and many other words are of West African origin, especially from Ghana and Nigeria, and used still to this day. Jamaicans did not create a Jamaican language so stop disrespecting an artist who is working hard and struggling to rise and make it in life and you are trying to dampen his image and criticize the way he sings in his songs. You should be the one encouraging Stonebwoy to spread reggae music in Africa. Because of him and Shatta Wale, lots of youths are embracing and are interested in Reggae music, and some will eventually become roots reggae singers and spread Jah word. That's how Jah works.
