If I recall correctly, it's actually the only Anti-Asteroid weapon that was successfully deployed, deflecting or destroying a majority of the larger Ulysses chunks (though Usea still took the brunt of the damage since it was on the facing side of the planet when the fragments impacted).

Then Arkbird was deployed and was then repurposed to clean up the Atmosphere of the remaining fragments before the Grey Men took control of it.

It only failed because of human error

It was hit by the Ulysses Asteroid strikes and was out of commission by the time the Stonehenge offensive happened

And at Ace Combat 7 mission 12, the same turret was used to shoot down the game's superweapon, Arsenal Bird.

I think the one Stonehenge gun being disabled is just a little detail to make the universe/mission feel a little more realistic, it makes sense that they wouldn't be able to get all of the turrets working, or that one broke down... Obviously in AC7 they could have explained it away by saying that they only had enough time to restore one of the guns, but I do appreciate the consistency, that the gun they fixed happened to be the gun that was out of commission the day ISAF attacked. Little details in the lore and universe is what I love about Ace Combat, and it's how they manage to make the series feel believable - despite the fact that aircraft can hold hundreds of missiles and there are literal flying aircraft carriers. Little stuff that makes you believe that Strangereal is a real place and you're fighting in a real war.

@@trainknut Everything you wrote is what is the literal draw for me to this series. There just aren't many AAA titles that have the effort into storytelling that AC does consistently. It's also why so many of us hated Assault Horizon, besides the DFM. You can suspend your disbelief in strangereal, and even feel emotions, (I teared up when Chopper died and felt panic when Harling died.) There just aren't many games that evoke emotion like AC does.

Okay, but what if its actually unnecessarily big, immobile because its on a goddamn ice and just overall trash because we tried to copy Stonehenge but failed? Good idea, Generals, even Megalith, SOLG and Intolarence could do better

That made it Incredibly dangerous because there was technically NO RANGE LIMIT, if estovakia wanted, they can move that thing to osea, or where ever they wanted. And it fired Cruise Missles. Truly a dangerous piece of weaponry

@@Phantom.Gaming64 Isn't Stonehenge actually easier though? I mean staying at low altitude is not exactly hard to do. With the submarines from AC5, you have to go up and down to avoid the ballistic missiles (admittedly more of an annoyance than a threat but still). I did like that they made Stonehenge harder on AC Infinity by having it actually fire at random spots with a huge blast radius.

I'll probably never get to play Ace Combat 7 at this point but LOL yeah Ace Combat 4 was my favorite game ever and to be honest Stonehenge is one of the most craziest realistic and probably most intimidating weapons with probably one of the greatest build-ups and stigmas and overall feel of the series genuinely stonehenge's able to incite Pure fear just At The Mention Of It

It wasn't "left behind", as mentioned by other ace combat media, the turret that survived had actually been hit during the fall of Ulysses and became inoperable.

It's a known bug. Su-35's would sometimes get Yellow Squadron quotes.

Yelü Longxu I would have to disagree. Ultimately, with proper terminal guidance, Stonehenge could take out the SOLG in space. Especially since Stonehenge was built mainly to shoot down asteroids

Georg Gross yes it was sabatoged by an ISAF agent from the inside. Which is why its the only one that is not destroyed from the attack and the one still in use in Acecombat 7

It's a maneuver called the "Pugachev Cobra". Incredible to see, but useless in an actual dogfight.

Since they are railguns, if you happen to fly in front of the rail while it is firing, it doesn't matter what altitude you are at. I did that a few times before I realized you have to pay attention to the way the cannons are facing.

@@TFRLIceman It's why firing a missile down the barrel destroys it in one hit. It's the hardest of the three parts of the cannon to hit, constantly moves, and has a chance of instantly killing you.
