This video shows you how to make a good quality, adjustable trammel suitable for any router. With this trammel you can make curved or circular cuts with your router.

That little jiggle at the end and the big smile was priceless Peter. :-)You clearly are pleased as punch with how that turned out. the bright yellow assures you wont lose it in the workshop unles syou ditch all the Festool and become A Dewalt man :-)

I absolutely LOVE the idea of building a trammel around a 30mm guide bush. That's going to be so much easier when using the router attached to a dust hose. I definitely plan to try this, maybe with some 10mm sheet bamboo I have kicking around.

Hi Peter, I liked this video a lot. There are plenty of good tips here. I particularly liked that we watched you make it from scratch, rather than showing one you made earlier and then making a duplicate. Good choice of colour - no chance of putting it down "somewhere" and not being able to find it when you need it - as you might do with a clear one!!

I have the Kapex 120 - it was my very first piece of Festool equipment and the tool that I did the most research on before buying. It is brilliant. Peter

Over engineered - that is the story of my life. I was always making odd trammels or jigs from bits of ply or leftover wood but I fancied making something that was just a dash more elegant. Peter

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you may need an adapter to fit your router. My Festool OF1400 needs an adapter which also came from Axminster. Peter

Nice job,might i suggest that you could use clear perspex for more visual on the work that you are doing, sight lines etc ,GOOD JOB .could you put a link up for the bush kit many thanks

Very neat, Peter. What glue did you use to attach the piece across the end?

The glue was Tensol 12 but it may vary according to the type of plastic one is using. Thanks. Peter

Nice Job Peter as always, will those UJK bushes fit the Festool 1010 and 1400 routers? have a Kapex being deliverd next week so hopefully will be good Steve

Steven Reynolds Hi Steven, I use the UJK bushes in my OF1400 but you do need to buy a guide bush adapter to fit the router. I covered this in my video about the UJK guide bush set and you can see more detail on the Axminster Power Tools web site. For the OF1400 the Leigh guide bush adapter is the solution. I do not know what would be needed for the OF1010 but assume that there will be an adapter, possibly the Leigh one. The technical help people at Axminster are brilliant and set me straight on this long before I made the video. Peter

Hi Michael, In order to get plans or to contact me via email I need your email address. KZfaq no longer has a private messaging service and so in order to get in touch you need to place a comment on this or any other video with your email address. The KZfaq software should identify and send it to the spam folder for The New Brit Workshop. Nobody will be able to see your email address except you and me. I will then delete your comment so that it does not end up in the public domain and I will then send the plans. Were we to do this the other way around then my comment, with my email address, would appear for all the world to see. Peter

I got the Perspex from a sign company who had some offcuts for sale but there was no clear there - for me the ideal would be clear and 10 mm thick. The UJK Guide Bush set came from Axminster Power Tools and their product code is 502571. Peter
