NY passed the same-sex marriage bill today. We owe so much to these brave brothers and sisters who stood up for their rights 42 years ago. Stonewall warriors...we will never forget!!

Yes: The opening speech, "And the rest of your life will be a living hell;" was given by Detective John Sorenson of the Dade County Miami, Florida) Police Department, to a high school assembly.

Can't wait to see it. Hope the next generation of LGBTQ activists sees it as well. It was astonishing how many of the young among those who rose up after the Prop 8 fiasco hadn't ever heard of Stonewall -- on that awesome June evening when our whimpering ceased and our roar found its resonance as New Yorkers took a stand for the global genetic Gayaspora and claimed our sovereignty as a people delivered.

Now we gays should join or at least support every progressive movement today that is fighting oppression of every kind.(i.e., the Occupy movement or others) We are almost there in optaining full equal treatment under the law now so let's help those that are dealing with all manner of social struggles or inequality.

I can't wait to see this documentary!!!! There's just something amazing about people getting so mad and finally standing up for their rights! One of my idols, and one of the most brilliant men that ever walked this earth, was gay. He was locked up for that and died afterwards due to health issues caused by his time in jail... and it makes me furious. His name was Oscar Wilde. I will always stand up for the rights of homosexual people. -a straight girl

I was shocked, horrified and disgusted by how gay people were treated (mental institutions?!?). How far have we come since then but how much more there is to do (UAFA). To think that America started this gay rights movement (even Gay Pride, I had no idea!) and has now reached a seemingly glass ceiling. I recommend this documentary to everyone despite sexual orientation!

WHERE does that initial clip of the cop lecturing students come from?? I don't recognize it and would love to see it.

It's in the actual full documentary which is now available free of charge right on here they've made it now as of 9 months ago it used to be only available to rent or buy I thought they took it down because of oppression and silencing the movement and the first amendment of Free speech but they're not 💜🏳️⚧️

@@celtsgrace I've seen the documentary noted, but was more interested in the original source content of the excerpt, which I have now been able to identify as part of a program from 1966 on Miami TV station WTVJ called simply "The Homosexual" hosted by news presenter Ralph Renick which is now being kept at the Wolfson Archives at Miami Dade College and can (amazingly) actually be viewed online in original form at their site. Thanks.

@thenewenglandredneck Thank you very much, Matthew. Unfortunately I'm sure he won't change his opinion on this matter, neither on many others very important for the social development of italian society.

I would really love to see this, it got great reviews and I love to experience LGBT history (as unpleasant as it may be the truth is necessary). I wish this was playing somewhere close to where I live.
Everytime I think of this shit I am reminded of blazing saddles "They hit buddy, get em girls"

Is it me or does this trailer seem very whitewashed? It was my understanding that Stonewall started with black trans women but I didn't see a single clip of one in this trailer...
@giinjiemperor3 жыл бұрын
What the fuck are you talking about? Those images and videos are from the actual event. Are you saying reality whitewashed what you think? You are the one fed lies
@kevinsmoot10993 жыл бұрын
@@giinjiemperor Yes, but it’s clear that the trailer/this documentary intentionally left out BIPOC people. There was not a single one being interviewed. Wake up
@giinjiemperor3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinsmoot1099 You wake up. Stop saying this BIPOC bullshit. You and your kind only care about Black people. why else would you separate blacks from the other "POC".
