NEW CDHF Talks - Stool Tests for GI Disorders
There are a number of stool tests that doctors use in the assessment and diagnosis of digestive conditions. They are used to assess things like infection, inflammation, for screening purposes (i.e colorectal cancer) and absorption/nutrition status. In this CDHFTalks, Dr. Karen Kroeker, will be discussing three different stool tests:
• Fecal Calprotectin used in the diagnosis and management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
• Fecal Elastase - used in the diagnosis of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency
• Helicobacter pylori stool antigen tests
