Regrettably, numerous "spambots" scour the internet for the purpose of gathering email addresses to flood with spam messages. In many cases, it is necessary to include a mailto link with an email address on a webpage. However, there is a silver lining - most of these spambots lack comprehensive HTML parsers.
This tool uses obfuscation techniques to create a "mailto:" link that will baffle unsophisticated spambots while still being compatible with standard web browsers.

This is a technique is from the early 2000's when I started web design. You think that a bot is not able to decipher this hash...? The way the generator creates the hash for you, a bot can also decipher it :P

I think so too. As long as you see the correct eMail in the front end, a bot can see it too. My solution: I'm using a server site php file. I can try to put in here, but I think YT will filter it.

I've been using a plugin for this for many years and found I can leave it alone and it just works automatically. However, I'm always looking for one less plugin! So, how would one use this in an icon box, button, or other situation where it isn't just text and the extra "mailto:" needs to be popped in?

I have non-techies who will be adding to a website that has elementor pro. Would the plug-in Email Address Encoder do this behind the scenes?

Hi Lyn, that plug-in does not work in a pagebuilder. Only in bare WordPress posts and pages.
