I haven’t noticed any performance deficit as a result of the heat, even on track. The intake reuses the factory cold air system so it’s getting all the goods from the front grill. I’m sure my air intake temp is probably a little higher on warmer days but it sounds sick and that’s all worth a few degrees on the air intake temp.

I have a short ram on my car now, I was so ignorant I thought that if you had a cone filter it was automatically a cool air intake but it actually has to be placed where there is cool air otherwise its just a short ram. I posted mine on my instagram a couple days ago and some asshole who I was actually followed me started out by giving me information and even said sorry if he was coming off as a dick, then he proceeded to degrade me and my car (when he has the exact same car) saying shit like "I hope you keep having fun with your "badass" car. Lmk if mine can ever be as fast as yours. I would hate to line up with you. Straight power monster you got there." I mentioned nothing about speeds or HP increase.. All I said in my post was "got a new intake" But I do plan on getting a 90 degree pipe soon because it is sucking up a ton of hot air. I've seen some pictures of the car I have with the same intake setup just some have the filter positioned on top of the battery so it sucks in the cold air from the little gap where the hood and front bumper meet, thats where the air was sucked up originally with the stock intake.

@@SkoolConnor I ended up buying a bunch of piping from a chinese website, removed the entire airbox, and 3d printed a map sensor housing then configured the pipes such that the filter is pretty much at the level of fog lights (pretty low), added a hydroshield for safety and then removed one of the foglights to make an air duct, now i can confidently say i have a DIY cold air intake that is functional.

yes it is stock turbo. on some vw models you can disconnected the "diverter valve" which acts as a sort of recirculation which allows it to do so much flutter. The turbo sounds you hear are the noises of the turbo echoing in the intake pipe. The turbo sits pretty much at the fire wall and just above the "trans tunnel" so that air has a long way to go before it reaches the turbo!

@waldolemmer yup used only the best .I put the sri intake in for gas mileage no other mods I did notice a huge increase in torque
