Cask strength Benromach is a good call. Frankly anything from them that's 46%+ is usually good, by which I mean check out their Contrasts series rather than their 43% releases. Benromach is owned by indie bottler Gordon & MacPhail, who do loads of excellent bottlings but I particularly recommend their Mortlach 15yo if you're into the Springbank end of flavour profiles. Also worth checking out is Edradour distillery, particularly their Caledonia 12yo. Their distillery website has free delivery in the UK. Also worth checking out is under the radar but whisky nerd favourite Glen Garioch - opinions vary whether their 12yo or 15yo is better, but both are good. Looking beyond the world of scotch, if you're into savoury notes in spirits then Polish potato vodka may also be of interest, for example Chopin.

Blend your own Springbank..... 40ml Cutty Sark Prohibition 5-7ml Glen Moray Peated As a bonus i add a 2-5 ml splash of Muscat (if i want a close my eyes and pretend ive splashed out for a premium muscat finished whisky)🤭

1. The people you are addressing in this video are not watching. I'd be willing to bet that only anoraks, punters and nerds watch your videos (it's a compliment, you're welcome). 2. Just wanted to point out that unlike your area, many of the liquor control states just don't have any or most of these choices. In my area no campbeltown, no benromach, no edradour, no interesting cognac or Armagnac, only the pop brands, no deanston, no glencadam, only mainstream tequila and mezcal, no clairin, etc. Any of the interesting bottles I've bought while traveling, including at Binny's (in your area). I don't really hunt anything, but 3 years ago in a little liquor store in Florida I saw the one and only bottle of Springbank 15 for $99, obviously I wouldn't pass it up. The next year I saw Springbank 10 at Costco for $89, again, a purchase of opportunity. Currently at Total Wine there's Longrow NAS for $90 and I am not buying. They also have Victoriana for $90 but I feel no need (have a couple stashed). I mainly only do buys of opportunity anymore. Closeouts of Indy bottlers at cask strength. Total Wine had the last bottle of Talisker Distiller's Edition Amoroso so I grabbed it for $70. A bit much but I felt it was worth it. A Torabhaig Allt Gleann for $56 minus 10% off? Yes, please! Or a Mossburn bottling of Mannochmore at discount. Or a dusty 2003 edition of Balvenie Peat Week 14. Last bottle, a c-note, not cheap, but that specific bottle was at that store for years, price didn't rise, so I thought it was worth it, a rescue. I also have the 2002 release, so I'll compare them. I didn't care to participate in the bourbon hunting insanity and I certainly don't want to see that happen to Scotch. I've done a calculation, even before Ralfy mentioned it recently, and I have enough malt stashed that I wouldn't have to buy it ever again, and still have plenty of enjoyable whisky for me and my occasional guests. So I'm choosy. 3. The sad thing is that in the US we don't really have an easy legal way to resell bottles. People do it, but it's not legal, nobody just cares to prosecute. Yet. If they ever nab someone, it'll be a very expensive ordeal. I know you can resell to a licensed vendor in Kentucky, not sure about other states, but that leaves a lot of money out. Honestly, I'd rather see distilleries charge the market prices and invest in capacity and casks, rather than resellers profiting. Plenty of fish in the sea.
