I was advising my colleague to save today when she asked me for airtime, guess what she said I don't have a child in university that is why I'm speaking like this. And she also said I only have 1 child that is why I am speaking like that and I was told I am previlaged I managed to learn about about money earlier in life they never got to learn about savings😂😂😂😂😂

Hey deary 🥰 Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Well said and true 💯. The way to success has never been easy, but with commitment is always possible. Very painful to have those people within the family. I only have one sister and no other siblings, she's that type of person with closed mindset. I got her a job twice, but she just quitted without a reason. I'm talking about my a person who is 49yrs and married with four kids. Just hate what she puts her kids through ngabomu. Yohhhh, it’s difficult when it’s family because you can just cut them off your life. The downside is that you spend so much of your energy trying to help her improve her life and still nothing. Mina ngivele ngibuke njeh, especially if I have given everything, nami I folf my hands.

I applied for a course I desire to do but realistically my finance are not adding up and I can't see how I'll keep doing monthly payments. Is it being realistic with my situation or making excuses? You are being realistic about your situation, but then I would say if this is important to you then find a way to bring in money so you can afford it. If you have to make sacrifices on your budget do that. If you have to wait another year until you have built up funds do that. I will give you an example, I want to buy something but my normal income won’t cover it, so I told myself since will have to work hard to afford it.

I do agree with some parts of the video but I don’t agree with the other parts. This can’t be a one size fits all solution. You probably where you are because of your income, size of your family, and access to certain opportunities amongst other factors. These factors give you room to go for certain things. For instance if one has one child and a decent income, they would certainly perform better financially than someone with 4 kids and also taking care of extended family. Let us not run away from these realities as Africans. Sometimes it’s not about the scarcity mindset but about your privileges and the amount of responsibilities or lack of in general.

I respect your point of view but will have go highly disagree with you. You said “you probably where you are because of your income, size of your family, and access to certain opportunities”, this statement packed with a lot of assumptions, excuses, and limiting beliefs. There are so many people who earn well but live paycheck to paycheck why is that so, because of their decisions. I am where I am because of the sum of my decisions not because of my circumstances. Once we get that right as people we can stop using our circumstances as our crutch. Where there a person has a big family or not, has one child or not, has a better income or not, has more responsibilities or not, it all comes down to the decisions we make about our lives and finances. As person who grew up in poverty, going to school with an empty stomach and coming back with an empty stomach, and still doing my level best academically while my peers who cane from better backgrounds with full stomachs lunch in their bags, why is it that I succeeded far more than they did academically? The point I am making here is if you choose to let your circumstances be the reason why you can’t get anywhere in life then it shall be so, but if you choose to make better decisions like, studying when you had to, excusing yourself from things that do not help you advance in life, making better decisions with your money, learning as much as you can, you have a far better chance at a good life than the rest. I will not leave God out of this because it’s not from my knowing that I am where I am today. We need to stop making excuses because they blind us from seeing and seeking opportunities.
