I only do Friday evenings, Saturday lunch (sometimes) and evenings. Then Sunday lunch (sometimes). I have another job so am doing that instead of delivering. I am not doing it that many hours. Even in the evenings I start around late around 7 and end around 10 or 11. Lunch I am usually out from 11 or 12 until 1:30. Actually DoorDash is the most popular in my area. There is not a lot of Uber Eats orders compared. I am not in a bigger city like Philly or New York. If I was, then truly Uber Eats would be the one to go to. I have to admit, DoorDash drives me nuts. I do hate it. Specifically hate the low ball customers who don't tip or tip $2-$4. I find more people are cheap on DoorDash then Uber Eats. I always get mad upset at the garbage bad orders. Sometimes....if I decline 2 or 3 orders, I will go to this dry spell where I don't get any orders at all. Then I have to ask DoorDash customer care to refresh my account. I think DoorDash does that on purpose , they dry spell to punish you. I actually always been happy with Uber Eats minus just not being popular in my area. I've thought about going to another where it's more popular but I don't know my way around that city. I don't know if I feel safe. Pretty much my goal was to save my money and earn it. I lost money for something. Now I just need to gain in back more quickly. Once I hit that number, I am out of delivery.

I live near Alton Illinois and doordash full time. Never work over 40 hours a week and bring home at lowest $700. The most I've done in a week was 45 hours and made $867 in one week. Multiple State AG's are investigating DD for their nefarious business practices like hiding tips, stealing tips, lowering base pay when a good tip is given, preventing drivers from using apps like PARA for pay transparency, hiding miles on orders, and penalizing drivers with a low AR. Screenshot everything. Cash out daily. Once my State slaps them with that huge class action, I'll have everything documented to hand over as evidence in the suit. They've stolen tens of millions from drivers with their nefarious practices and it's only a matter of time before it catches up to them.

@@nyankanakitty why not? There are already class actions against door dash right now. One says door dash misclassified dashers as independent contractors in states like Massachusetts, Illinois, (California before December 2020), labor laws requires door dash to reimburse delivery drivers for gas AND mileage, customer tips, as well as pay a guaranteed minimum amount. Drivers are seeking $25k in compensation. I just recently read that on the news.

Here in Las Vegas the hourly rate can get high as $19 (when it's busy.) But on hourly you are going to drive long distances. You will be lucky to get 2 orders in 1 hour. The pay by offer is hit or miss. You can grab a few high paying orders. The most difficult part about dashing in Las Vegas is making deliveries to the strip. And also picking up orders from restaurants inside hotels and casinos. Because you have to find parking or pay for parking. Cool little side hustle for extra cash. If you are depending on door dash to pay the bills good luck. Because you are running yourself. And your automobile in to the ground.

Door Dash is a good part time job if you know your area and busy times well. Like for instance I live in a decent market, I know that some of the best tippers order a lot during Sunday mornings between 8am through 1pm. I've probably gotten 85% of my hidden tips on Sundays. I would suggest ppl only work 15-20 hrs a week. Thanks for the content, I always enjoy the videos!

Yes, I feel like Sundays you get good tips because of the NFL and your city/state team playing. I also work 15-20 hours a week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the snowy winter season, and just completed my 600th delivery today! There is 2 Areas I always go to (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon) because I know they are going to explode, lol! I also realized that dash times are pushed at least 3 hours in advance in the summer due to more people in the workforce and people physically going to restaurants to experience the sunshine for the first time in 5,6 months. It is an interesting market they say......

Hourly for my area is $8/hour. I tried hourly once and I felt like I got cheated. Most of the orders and customer's home was close by each other when I did hourly. That's what I like in per order, but in hourly, that means my base pay was under $2 (below the minimum of 2.25 for per order) because it took me under 15 mins. But when I do per order, they often give me orders that's far, that at least totals 30 mins when starting from to delivering an order. Not to mention, they are so bad at communicating with dashers if there's an outage. App just put on pause with no alert to tell dashers that there's an outage.

I want a next step, but I'm having trouble finding it. I've been doing this for 3 years and I now do it almost full time. I made almost $70K last year working just under 40hrs a week, so it's not a side hustle for me. I juggle 5 delivery apps, but they're all dwindling in demand and pay. I do wait a lot of time between offers now, even with 5 apps running simultaneously. Uber just cut $1 off of my pay for every delivery with an EV; the zero emissions incentive is gone for Uber Eats. That's a loss of almost $4K for the year. I don't love grocery shopping, but I will do it when things are slow. I agree that this is a great way to build up liquidity, but you need to transition to a business that you have more control over. I don't see the natural path forward. The skills needed for a social media business are very different than those for a courier service.

Hey Mike! Here in Nassau County, Long Island, NY it's $16 per hour on Uber and $15 per hour on DoorDash which I have tried and overall it's lackluster. For Uber it can be very useful because it guarantees $16/hr as long as you do between 1-2 trips(depending on the criteria) during the time period specified and it is provided as a bonus in addition to what you earn, whereas with DoorDash it just averages the amount on each order which ends up being much less.

Great channel Mike and thanks for all you do man. So, I've been wanting to comment on one of your vids and ask you and everyone: Would it be good if we were able to negotiate with the customer on the offer screen to potentially turn a borderline worthwhile order into a worthwhile one? There are so many times where I'd love to be able to say really fast, "Hey I'll do this for 5 dollars more." Now, I already can tell that during the rush periods this wouldn't be practical 'cause the customer would just be like, "No I'm going to wait for a driver that will take the offer." But when it's really late and there probably isn't a bunch of drivers online, this might be kinda cool. I've had so many orders where it's like 13 miles and it's 15 bucks. They've already tipped like 9 or 10 bucks, sure I get that, and that's a good tip, but if I could negotiate with them, sort of volley back a counteroffer. I would so love to be able to do this. Especially the ones that clearly didn't tip, omg just the satisfaction ALONE to communicate, professionally of course, that they can eff off with that mess and present MY offer. 😂 Yes, omg... If this was possible I would have another prepped text along with my others I use on every delivery, I.E. to greet the customer, communicate an issue, etc, that would, very succinctly, indicate that they are going to get the best service from me, and because of that, this is my fee. In my marketplace here in Goldsboro, NC, Spark is my "9-5" but it's more like 7 - 4 and then turn that freaking off because of the NOT lucrative situation where every pickup spot has a vehicle in it and you know, commence the hour+ long wait. That's when I turn on DD/UE and maybe pick up another Spark order at 6:20 or 6:45 before calling it a night.

Door dash just SETTLED a class action lawsuit brought on behalf of dashers in Massachusetts, Illinois, and California for $100 million! That is one hell of a settlement, not by losing in court, they settled, lol. Now it was for dashers who worked prior to 2020 I guess. Door dash has other lawsuits against it's business practices. Even GrubHub lost a major class action having to payout 10sof millions in D.C for hidden fees and jipping drivers.

Doordash has progressively gotten worse. Only company I’ve seen lower pay in an inflated economy. They don’t promote good tips. And typically they send the drivers way too early to pickup orders which leads to longer wait times at restaurants. It has gone from my #1 side hustle to #4 behind Walmart spark, Uber eats and Uber rideshare. Also the app glitches out a lot on doordash and they hide too much tip. At least Uber shows $8 upfront for tips.

I was doing pretty good with DoorDash before they lowered their base pay with the distance nonsense. They claimed they were helping drivers with high gas prices, but between that and the lower base pay I was barely breaking even. I've been finding recently that trading stock options is more consistent than driving for DD, there's just a pretty big learning curve when first starting.

Shipt is slowly taking over as my main gig delivery option and DD being the filler. I stick to delivery only options. While Shipt is a bit slow during the week, on the weekends it's killer with the Party City/ShopRite orders. And with the PC orders, Customers are way more generous with cash tips at the door. I just avoid shop and delivery orders because as soon as your rating goes down you are no longer receiving priority notification on offers.

@@YourDriverMike Thanks for the reply man, been a follower for a while. Yeah, the surplus of orders come mainly Saturdays and Sundays. All other days here in Long Island, they get sprinkled in during the course of the week. There are decently paid shop and deliver orders, but the risk of getting below 5 stars isn't worth it when you get priority access. The only downsides to the store locations are they are at least 15 minutes from my Home. So I try to fill in with DD if I can so I can stay within the vicinity. Otherwise it's go back home and then back out again. The other downside is that you can only accept 2 orders an hour. There was a time early on to where I could take a 3rd order if it was a different Merchant. The app has stopped that apparently. I am making at least $100 within a 3-4 hour window with Shipt alone on weekends (9a-12/1p).

Despite decreased pay where $16 for 3-5 miles was typical; and I even remember $48 for 20 mile double; which is now $9 for 3-5 miles or a longer 20 mile run is $22 at best, the volume also has gone down. I did good with Walmart from the summer til just before Christmas; but now it's just crashed down in my market and they are again running a new driver incentive probably b/c they are having trouble filling the $1/mile Sam's GM runs that come out at 2:30 every day.

I quit my job at Amazon and Doordash was a 100% improvement. I have grinded from 6am-6pm M-F for about 8 months, but now I'm getting pretty burned out and I'm determined to make money online and build my KZfaq channel. Ultimately this is the reason I quit my job to Doordash in the first place, so I'd say it's fulfilled its purpose.

@@boohere2 Honestly, it depends on your goals and preferences. If you value a more consistent check that is the same amount every week then a job like Amazon is fine. My goals and lifestyle require more freedom and flexibility than a traditional job. I prefer working on my own terms. Also, I use my time while dashing wisely to listen to audiobooks, KZfaq and podcasts that help me grow. To answer your question about getting burned out from Amazon though, the workload, standing in one place for long hours, the repetition and the environment were not ideal for me. Every market and every area is different. Try working a different area than you usually do. You could also try Uber Eats, Grubhub, Spark, Shipt ... there's a lot of choices. @@thenewbrianrobertson Have you ever tried delivering packages for Amazon instead? I wonder if that would be better since you would not be standing all the time. Actually I am doing Uber Eats too. I actually signed up first for that as it was the only one that was available to do. However, it's just not popular in my area. I'm not in a huge city like New York or Chicago or Los Angeles. There is a bigger city near me about 25 minutes away depending on traffic. However, I don't feel comfortable delivering there. I don't know the city that well. I don't know how safe it is either since I mostly deliver in the evenings. DoorDash has been more popular in my city unfortunately. I just run the two delivery apps at the same time. Then I take the best order that comes up. The reason I am doing delivering is because I like the flexibility as you do. I have another job I do about full time. So having another job under a boss wouldn't work for me as I can't do a set schedule. Was nice about DoorDash or Uber Eats or any delivery food app is you can do it whenever you want. I want to Door Dash to grow my inventory for my Ebay store and then invest in homes again when the market drops. I'm currently in Las Vegas because of a family medical situation but previously based in LA, where I had no problems getting Auto industry work considering my specialties are importing and exporting ( no port in Vegas ) and working on movie cars. The last 5 years are not only extremely boring but also they've been expensive. I think I would enjoy it. Working on the insurance now. My Ebay store does ok but has been slow since November, probably recession related.

I have been Dashing for about 2 weeks in Winter Springs, FL (a suburb of Orlando). I mainly work on political campaigns but I wanted another way of making money just so I could live in FL full time and not have to move so much to keep working in politics. The amount I have made at Doordash is definitely disappointing but I think it's been good enough to earn me something until I can get more work in politics, along with allowing me to be pickier with what campaigns I decide to work on. But that's admittedly mostly because I am helping my mom sell a bunch of stuff she doesn't need on Facebook marketplace. So, I think Mike is right to warn people about it being slow lately and not a good primary source of income. I do full-time deliveries. Food delivery no matter the app is very inconsistent in my area to have a good dollar per hour. Uber, Doordash, Grubhub, and ASAP have tendencies even with all of them turned on to have like 15-20 minutes in lag a lot. Doordash is just near impossible to get on and stay on to make it full time. I've been doing Spark in full now that I finally got activated. There are tons of walmarts in the general vicinity and I can guarantee a wage usually through it. Some wait times do happen though. Baton Rouge, LA area btw. Others may have better luck than me in the area though. Thats just what I encountered for a few months.

Spark is one of the better ones. However, it's now becoming saturated, and spark has reduced based pay as well as incentives payouts. Customers tend to tip high when first becoming a W+ member , and eventually, the way they have preset builds $4,$7, and $10. Those are the common tips. What I dislike most is the default $7 and after delivery. Customers see this and then remove it, causing tip bait to happen. I agree with you though food delivery atleast in my market is not worth it for $per mile spark is good sometimes amZon flex when they pay $40+ per hr which are the only ones I take Nything less u get ripped off

DoorDash is like most other gig apps. They only provide a sound living base pay when they first start out and then you realize how little the customers tip after they kill that base pay. I don't trust fast food customers to not be cheap, so I probably won't bother even starting.

DOORDASH teeters on the line between w2 and 1099 by restricting areas, scheduling,(delegating work hours), quotas masked as “motivation or incentives” to get my acceptance rate up for better offers (controlling pay), having to explain why I declined an offer and intimating screens about stats. I don’t want a boss or micro manager. They’ve become my backup if I’m “allowed” to work an area. Promising higher paying offers IF I take all these $2 orders is not even worth my time or gas.
