In this Final Cut Pro tutorial, I'm going to run through some built-in, free effects for Final Cut Pro that are so useful and cool looking if used right. These effects can help your videos look better and more professional in a short amount of time. This FCP tutorial is not only for beginners but more advanced editors as well. Hopefully there are a few effects that are new to you! If not, then the tutorial could be a nice reminder of what Final Cut Pro effects you already have and how to use them.

Wondered if you were going to mention Beauty Box. It really is great. I was lucky enough to buy it for a work project (so I didn't pay for it) and have used it for years. Love the other tips. Always something new to learn (or be reminded of) in FCP. That Draw Mask transition is sweet.

Great video! How did you make the vintage looking effect at 7:57? Are you using any plug in to create that? Also, on 7:42 you made cool transitions to the words dropping how did you do that on Final Cut Pro? Thank you keep up the good work.

@Dylan - Sir, please. It's pronounced GOW-see-in (or GOW-see-[schwa]n [rhymes with MOUSE-see-in]), not "Gaw-shin". It is an extremely important curve in mathematics, esp. in statistics, named so in honor of Carl Frederick Gauss (rhymes with mouse), one of the greatest mathematicians of modern times. The Gaussian is also known as the famous bell curve (not the book). It is a probability distribution of enormous importance and has been adopted by the FCP developers as an effect. That’s not a free, built-in effect 😉 and if I were to name every plug-in preset I use in my tutorials, people would click off in 30 seconds haha. It’s a transition preset from the MotionVFX plug-in, mShorts geni.us/mShorts

Hey Dylan, i recently saw your About section on your channel is translated in german. You can clearly see that it was translated and sounds wrong. In german we have two versions of "you". "Sie/Ihnen" is very formal and only used talking to strangers or people above you (e. g. my teachers). The other form is "du" which is used when talking to friends, younger people etc. Your about section uses "sie/ihnen" which doesn't really make sense in that way so i improved it: Willst du ein besserer Videofilmer / Filmemacher / Kreativer werden? Einige neue und erstaunliche Tricks für die Videobearbeitung lernen? Oder ein paar Kamera-Hacks und nützliche Tipps für Entwickler? Ich poste jede Woche (Freitag) SPASS- und INFORMATIONS-Videos, die für dich erstellt wurden, um Sie bei der Verbesserung zu unterstützen.
