I have 11 aglaonemas at my house and 2 at my office. I think in a lot of cases with planty people, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" with our plants. We love plants that a non-planty person would not necessarily appreciate. But I think even non-planty people can appreciate aglaonemas. My Red Emerald is probably the most beautiful plant in my collection. My Golden Bay is so perfect looking that it almost looks fake. One thing that I'd suggest for people to watch out for, though, are the "death cages" that can sometimes be around the roots of aglaonema that you buy in stores and nurseries. Luckily, only one of mine had them, but they were kind of miserable to get off and the plant dropped some leaves afterwards in protest. That was actually the Golden Bay, so she obviously recovered from her ordeal.

Hi Jaclynn, Thanks for an informative video. At resent I only own 2 full size Aglaonemas and 1 seedling size. I enjoyed listening to your instructions which confirmed that I’m doing the right thing for my plants. I tend to slip up on fertilising a bit simply because their watering cycle doesn’t fall in with most of my other houseplants.I water my Aglaonemas about every 3-4 weeks and to make up for lack of fertilising with the other plants I’ve given them some slow release pellets. I love how easy care Aglaonemas are and intend buying some more.

I have a silver bay. It's in a northwest facing doorway. I water when it's completely dry. Excess water comes out through the leaves. I'm getting new leaves about every three weeks. It's not neglected but gets nearly any attention.

I got a Pictus Tricolor and recently ordered a Lotus Delight... I guess those are not the common ones. I'm in trouble, lol 💚🩵💚 A tip for propagating in water! Instead of dumping the water every week, you can either fill it partially and gradually add water every week and/or find a method of blowing bubbles into the water to create oxygen in the water. I've done this and have had 100% success with all props. 🎉

Love this video! Aglonema are one of my favorite floor plants. I just love their beautiful leaf patterns. I don't do the pink or red varieties tho. Stick to greens, whites and yellow variations. I have an XL Maria and she is big and beautiful and only water her maybe once a month.

I do also tend to struggle a bit with my aglaonema; they are a little more neglect- tolerant than I like and can rot, esp the Red Siam. Really like 5 of the 8 types I own, and waiting to find a good Aglaonema Chocolate to complete collection.

If you like to water often, maybe try growing in coco chips! They dry out super fast, so you can water every few days
