20:41 What's funny is that Optimus in the original show was suppose to have the wheels on his legs show as well as having the grey strip in truck mode with yellow eyes, as he appeared like this in his first animated commercial appearance, only for them to simplify the designs to make it cheaper.

I actually like the wheels on his back, they look clean and actually looks well integrated rather than looking like annoying kibble. Like it kinda adds as ‘look, im a robot that turns into a truck!’ Sure, it’s not what most G1 designs depict, but it still looks nice to me.

This figure is almost certainly going to get a repaint as Nemesis Prime, but the repaint I want is Shattered Glass Optimus. Shattered Glass needs more love in general.

TL;DR: Earthrise Optimus Prime is best described as the original Optimus toy, if it was designed in 2020. Let me just say that the only reason I haven’t bought it yet is because I’m a jobless incoming college freshman and won’t be able to afford it until Christmas. “That sucks” is an understatement. Edit: So I may have finally bought this figure, along with 5 others. I’m gonna be selling off some of my Prime Wars trilogy era toys on either Armatrix or Ebay depending on which attracts buyers faster to make up for the hole I just shot through my wallet with a fusion cannon.

But I never got why people are mad about car wings or leg wheels; the whole unique thing of the toy line is that they're robots AND something else, whether car or plane or monster. Ahhh thank you youtube for putting this in my recommendations. This was one of the sweetest reviews i’ve ever seen. The stop motion aspect is something i’ve never seen it done before and I love it!

I like Earthrise Prime, but ultimately I prefer Siege and Studio Series, Siege because it keeps to G1 while also doing something new, Studio Series because its a stylized G1 Prime, but I still love Earthrise Prime, probably would have loved him more if he came first, but if he did I probably wouldn't have bough those other two amazing figures, though I hope WFC Kingdom doesn't give us another Prime, you perfected if Hastak, no need to try anymore, just keep releasing this one with different decos and accessories

Man, I just ordered this figure off of amazon (at retail price! Yay!) so this review is in perfect timing! I like to hype myself up when I buy a figure

You might remember that i made a comment on Optimus saying "get the rest of us re-booted" and i said that cybertronians are just big metal people, when in G1 continuity they were simply smart robots who could feel pain and think for themselves. Basically, even in stories where these large boys and girls were built by the quintessons, we shouldn't see them as machines, but simply as life forms made of metal. Because minicons are so dang similar to Mega man's reploids, save for having smaller heads relative to their body's, and transform into a multiple array of tools, household appliances, vehicles and animals.

I’m so glad to see that someone agrees about how this figure looks! For the first time in AGES, we finally have a G1 styled Prime that actually looks and fits the part! (The updated version they released recently actually has an even nicer paint job in my opinion, though he doesn’t come with a trailer. Honestly though I don’t mind as his price is lower, and he looks amazing in general.)

Yeah I'm definitely picking this guy up I'm also going to make him the Ultimate Optimus I'm talking the non F upgrade kit so the trailer looks better and I get a silver roller also the Centurion pack for the Ion Blaster, axe and I can use the included blue roller for the repair drone to make it like mp44's mobile repair drone and the Matrix Workshop roller mainly used as a jetpack

You seem to be perfectly okay with modifying your figures so I want to mention that you can remove the back half of his feet, so that he doesn't have the awkward heels sticking way back. You can't throw him at a desk and land him on his feet anymore but his balance is still pretty good, he doesn't really need the heels for most poses On a different note also related to feet, with the new simplified legs compared to Siege, I wish they would have used that extra budget and space to somehow fold his feet into his legs for alt mode. I'm sure it would have been possible, there's plenty of space there

I honestly adore this Optimus Prime figure, I can happily call this my definitive transforming G1 Prime, much how I consider MP-01/04 my definitive G1 Prime statue. He has problems, and mine especially came with slight shoulder deformation, and a loose shoulder port, but he still transforms without a hitch (unless you count the one for the trailer). I can honestly only say I have two complaints that aren't factory defects. The first is the shoulders. I loved posing my MP-01 to reach around his front, which unfortunately Earthrise Prime can't do. Disappointing, but far from a deal-breaker. The second issue? The back of the head. Why the heck they made the back of the head red, and painted an easily-chipped metallic blue over it is beyond me. The hands don't even have this problem for me, weirdly enough. Large portions of blue are missing from the antennas, and back of the head on mine, and that sucks horribly. I never had insentive to buy Siege prime, but just to replace the head I may find one being sold with missing parts for cheap. Besides that? Amazing figure, I couldn't recommend it more, but I will say if you don't care about the trailer, wait until the Netflix figures. There's rumor Earthrise Prime will be released without it, so if you don't mind the inevitable battle wear paint, wait it out for a better cost.

I’m personally sticking with the 35th anniversary siege version. I think siege has better proportions( I removed the kibble) and that one has much better colors IMO.

I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on this one!! Got mine a few weeks ago, it’s the G1 Prime I’ve dreamt of having minus a few small qualms. The Roller of the Legends-size IDW Optimus works as a substitute, and I managed to find the parts to build him an adequate axe. My only remaining gripe is that his face isn’t painted around his eyes like Siege Prime, so his beautiful baby blues don’t pop nearly as much.

The back wheels might be a reference to the studio ox design of optimus which puts the wheels on the back

Very nice opening. Note that the Marvel comic first issue came up with good explanations for why both autobots and decipticons transformed into 1980's earth vehicles, and also a few issues later how the dinobots came to have their forms.

Only thing I wish that they've done differently was have the crotch section be in another color, either by painting it silver or casting it in a different shade of gray. The legs aren't to long like everyone seems to think, it's just that them being the same color as the thighs makes it look like as if they were part of them.

You realize that without the detail on the drums, you wouldn't get any effect with the rotating cutouts? Having the molded parts achieve the desired effect (eg. inner detail) was always going to be more important than verbatim of the original.

I can’t believe when I got adds in the video the commercial brake parts were PERFECTLY timed!

Finally got my hands on this figure, and it is as glorious. I don't think a Transformer has brought me this much nostalgic joy since the OG masterpiece Prime. I just can't put him down, can't stop transforming him back and forth to admire him from every intricate angle. Siege Megatron made me happy, but Earthrise Optimus makes me euphoric. It's almost enough to make me want to quit collecting, because I'm just not sure how anything could get better from here... or if it could, I'm not sure I could survive the overload of positive emotions for which mortal words would be insufficient to describe.

Speaking of recreating the final shot of the Bumblebee movie, do you have a recommendation for the best old Camaro version of Bumblebee? I'm disappointed that there isn't at least a 3rd party MP style version somewhere. The 2007 version with all the weathering detail would be cool, but a clean brand new version would be equally cool, ngl I'd like to get one of each. EDIT: Hey, you like legos, too. Cool.

Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus was the first Optimus with a removable Matrix of Leadership back in 2006 and was designed to have that feature on the onset. It’s not the G1 Optimus, but it was a mainline toy for a cartoon.
