Animating a water splash can be tricky, but I show you exactly how to get a great result using clay in this stop motion animation tutorial. We will be using a table top and shooting from above, so there will be no complex rigging or rig removal involved. Nice and easy stop motion here.
I'm Tortor, a stop motion animator with many years experience. I've worked on a feature film, in television development and set up my own independent production company too. On this channel I teach you how to make stop motion videos on your smartphone, or using Dragonframe. I make videos on everything from tutorials to short films to top tips and advice - there is something here for everyone, at every level. We have claymation, paper cutout, Lego and more. "I will now drop the present." :D There's something pythonesque about this sentence... thanks for the tutorial! I'm going to animate a big splash in the near future, so this came at the perfect time.

Your such a bad influence on the public sharing your stop motion videos. 🤠👍😉. After watching a number of your video I was forced to order modeling clay to try and do the things you have been showing on your videos. I have watched a number of other stop motion tutorials but for some reason your simplified it. Even when you did further reviews of other stop motion videos explaining how they made the videos they did. I see thus is going to turn into an addiction that I will not be able to pull myself out of. Again keep up the great work.

Haha! Wondered what you were going to say for a moment there. Thank you. I am really pleased that things come across well and have inspired you to buy clay and want to create stuff 🙂I'm trying to put in more and more effort with every video and make things as informative and entertaining as possible, your feedback is great, it makes me excite to create even more awesome explanations and tutorials 😍Animation is a good addiction to have, you've chosen well

i am always in hunt of new claymation videos.. there are very few who do claymation and that to in a tutorial form is blessed.. looking forward to see more videos from you and hope to learn and make my own animation soon... what software do you use.. i have lot of question for you haha..

Hey! Thanks so much :) In this I am using Dragonframe (it's a paid for, professional level software) - you don't need it to make great animation though... you can get an app on your phone for free if you want to play around and have fun. Just search 'stop motion' in apps and you should find something. If I have time I might download one myself and show how to start for free. I have so many ideas for videos, want to help as many people as possible... it's just squeezing them in to my free time :D I'm happy to answer Q's - if you comment some I might do a Q&A video - could be fun :) Hope you're having a great day, thanks so much again

Thanks for your reply.. you can make videos like.. 1. What type of clay should be used and avoided to make a character bcoz there are many clay available on the market. 2. How to make a character ? as you may see on you tube there are many who will just use a lump of clay as human being and try to animate. 3.What software (paid/free)are good bad. 4. Now that you have a good amount of experience in claymation you can advise on Do's and Don't of claymation process...

I love your work! I just subscribed! I just have a question, how long do you think it takes to do a claymation of 3 minutes?
@Animatortor
@Animatortor 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! Well, it will depend on the vastness of the idea, number of characters etc. You would definitely be looking at upwards of a month, most likely several months. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much!!! For this animation I used Newplast clay… but I now use plastilina too. I think plastilina is the best now, it is so easy to work with, so just get cracking with what you’ve got 😎👌🏻

@Animatortor
@Animatortor 3 жыл бұрын
Oh awesome, so pleased to hear you want to give claymation a try Matthew :) Not all figures have armatures, Morph (that Aardman make) is solid clay... it's sort of personal choice really and what you need your character to do. Hope that helps
