Stop Over-the-Top Forever || Square to Square

This drill will stop the over the top move in your golf swing forever. If you know the square to square swing you probably already know much of what I'm saying but if you're not getting the compression you want, this is the drill you need to do.

How do you add distance or make a bigger swing? Also, I top it, hit thin or fat..behind the ball more times than I hit the ball squarely.

Why not just close the clubface 45 degrees, and play the ball back in your stance? That would eliminate 2 of your steps.

Can you do this drill with the driver? My issue is over the top with driver.

@@samgouldengolf when I move towards the ball with my driver I pop up the ball and it goes no where except very high in the air. Do you have a recommended drill for the driver?

Low point of driver per Sam is several inches behind the ball. This drill worked wonders with my driver - close clubface to 2nd base with swing path to first swinging up on the ball past the low point.

Also if you don’t turn your shoulder under your chin you’ll push the ball right. That was the missing piece for driver and my irons with sq to sq. After I made the full shoulder turn it all clicked perfectly - thanks Sam!
