Vehicle activated speed signs are becoming increasingly popular traffic calming methods across Britain. Their operation is straightforward: the sign detects a motorist approaching and warns them if they are exceeding the speed limit, encouraging them to slow down.
There are many radar speed signs on the market, many of which are pricey, or overly complicated to set up. You can easily change the activation speeds on the sign as well as the duration. Once an approaching vehicle drives towards the sign, exceeding the speed limit, the speed display will show their current speed, and depending on the style of sign, either display a “Slow Down” message or a sad face icon.
The SpeedFinder is powered either by battery power, solar power, or a mains cable connected to the local power grid. The same sign accommodates all three different power options, depending on the type of variant you choose. You can also upgrade the sign later by purchasing additional parts, such as a solar panel, without having to buy a completely new sign.
