STOP Storing Treble Hook Baits Like This (Tackle Storage Tips)

I've been cramming treble hook baits into standard clear plastic boxes for years (crankbaits, jerkbaits, hard topwaters, glidebaits, etc.). But I was doing some tackle organization recently and came to a realization...I'VE BEEN STORING TREBLE HOOK BAITS WRONG!
I might be a little crazy for this one, but I want to share this tackle storage tip (and crucial new product) that I think makes a big difference. Comment below if you think this is a great tip or if I'm overthinking this one...

definitely right about this one bro 👍🏻 , these type of fishing problems drive me crazy , because im a rookie bass fisherman , and starting out i couldn’t believe my new crank baits , lipless cranks should be poking themselves .. causing paint chips and duller hooks touching other lures if stored one on top of another .. drove me nuts till i decided to just change out the hooks as i see fit .. looking to switch all my gear to plano edge boxes but for now … ill keep my lures in my 3600 reg plano boxes and in like two years ill upgrade .. got 1 hard 3600 tackle box , 1 soft 3600 for 5 stowaways .. and ordered a 3600 weekender for my trout set ups ..

Look into the Plano Elite Crankbait Organizer boxes, they're available in 3600 and 3700 footprint. Prices have increased quite a bit, though. They're my go to boxes for 95% of my hard baits.

Have you tried getting these covers off the hook when you’re on a boat or a kayak are we seem to have problems getting them uncovered

Really the best thing to do is to take the trebles off of all baits you plan to change the trebles on, leave them hookless, store them in bags to consolidate space then put fresh trebles on the bait when u fish them. Then have a smaller selection of hook hangers for baits that have fresh hooks. Me personally I’m not willing to buy toms of hook hangers. One trick is those old plastic worms you don’t want to fish with anymore, preferably salt free, cut little chunks and thread them on your hooks instead.

They have foam inserted boxes for jerkbaits and any treble baits you have. Keeps them separated and hooks sharp.

Thanx. I agree about hook sharpness but your going to give yourself a ulcer. Change hooks on baits that get alot of action and change others used sparingly yearly. Anymore than that you will go crazy and broke. 1970s and 80s hook tech sucked but we managed to catch a few fish. Those bronze hooks started dull. Todays hook tech allows a little breathing room. Not to mention graphite rods, floro and braid, EWG style hooks, high speed reels. Change your hooks when needed and buy some small rubber bands to wrap around hooks and your good.

I’m guessing the pros would think that these hook covers are a waste of time you will never make anyone believe that you can tell the hooks are getting more and more dull when you aren’t even using them.that is stupid as hell🙄

I sent you an IG DM that might help you quantify "sharpness". You might be able to monitor hook point changes over time with it.

Yep so I actually have been using a magnifying glass, but I bet a microscope would be interesting to see that factory sharpness vs being in a box for a few weeks

@@AnglerIntel a Digital one allows you to record and share the results too. I did it once with different brands of Shakeyheads out of the package. The results? (Surprising!)
