Good suggestions. One thing I have done from a recommendation from other photographers is to use auto ISO. With cameras today, one can achieve excellent quality shots even at higher ISO’s. This prevents the photographer from being boxed into too low of a shutter speed (remember the exposure triangle) where blurry photos become more common.

Hey Andrew, I really like your tips on taking good photos and have improved a lot since the time I started. One of the things that I often miss and the camera doesn't focus on the subject is because of the focus distance switch that exists on a few lenses. That throws me off at times on why the camera is not focussing, would be a good recommendation to check if that switch is set properly. Thanks for the video, there's always something to learn from your videos. Appreciate it

Thank you for responding back Andrew@@BeyondPhotography I'm from the USA. Speaking of AFC, I have a question or need a suggestion from you. When we are taking an photos at a birthday event, often times it happens that when we focus using AF-S on the kid in the frame. From the time we focus to the point of taking the shot the kid might move front or back which results in an out of focus image. For this reason I almost always have my focus mode set to AFC, any recommendations for this would be great! - Trilok

The "correct posture" at 9:00 has the camera held way out in front, which is then described at 9:30 as "very wobbly".

May be a silly question but what focusing mode we have to use while capturing action shot like sports photography where shutter speed and ISO are high and aperture is low? Should we use AF-C exclusively or we can use whatever we want?

Andrew….Here is the sad thing about this advanced technology….new coming photographers are now addicted to eye focus AI , image stabilization that is forgiving to the poor camera holding technique, auto WB / exposure where they do not have to fiddle with passport color check/18% grey card , semi auto so perfect they do not need to go manual anymore , ….so on so forth….Seems the camera now is the photographer with its algorithms. I still remember you vividly teaching us how to hold the Nikon D200 so steady that you can match IBIS in your sharpness from any modern camera nowadays, this art of photography you have in your archery arrow quiver is unfortunately lost to the AI, the more they come up with newer mind blowing technology the more I am gravitated to your older videos and the more I see me grabbing my fuji film S5 pro…..Cheers from Michigan ….keep them coming and please please …Keep your older precious videos …may be some one will learn real photography from them.

Images looking too digital are such a turn off for me, in most cases. For that reason, I love to shoot using the ICM photography technique; and with this technique, one can give new life to old kit 👍🏻

Here are my additional hints for sharp photos in portrait photography: never get below 1/60s. If light is low, use a flash as fill-in in combination with raised iso (400-800) to maintain natural colors (1st test photo without flash to set background brightness, 2nd add flash). Be aware of your camera's IS (image stabilization) capabilities.
