Do you know anyone that who takes things a little too personal?
Could that be you? Are you easily offended?
Some people/things really know how to trigger us into reacting, but if not kept in check, we may end up looking like a fool.
In this video, I provide an example of an individual who took great umbrage to something so unlikely that’s it’s hard to believe. There is something to be learned from it for all of us.

Thank you Greg, more excellent food for thought! I still have relatively thin skin, but I've learned to first think if I'm just making it about me, or if it is personal, if there is some truth behind it. It used to be I only had my friends to talk to. I hate to think about having social media widely available to complain to...half the universe validating the world does revolve around me and the other half coming down on me in ways impossible not to take personally, yikes.

Thank you for the kind words Greg, I'm truly humbled. I think the day I decided to refuse to be Offended anymore it seems like my life got a lot better. The most interesting thing about the topic is it seems the ones that are closest to us can seem to cause the most offense. My Pastor has a saying, "Don't take offense, and get of the fence." 😅 Thanks.

Firstly, I dont believe anyone who says that they don't care what other people think. Whether they get offended is a whole 'nother thing, but not caring what people think isn't a thing at all, whether people like to admit it or not. Secondly, with regards to taking things personally, unfortunately thats a personality trait which is usually deeply embedded, and although you can tell someone to 'stop taking things personally', you'd actually be asking them to change their personality and for most people, their personality traits are pretty much set in stone by the age of puberty. As for me, myself and I, lots of things bother me (pointless wars, crime, famine, Gregus Boswellium not posting videos as often as I'd like, corruption, natural disasters... those kinds of things) but I'm not the type to be offended. I cant think of any time in my life when I've been literally and personally offended by something.

I'm 61 years old and have a very thick skin , not many things or people bother me , I'm from the " old school " mentality , if people like me good , if they don't no hard feelings.

I absolutely don’t care what other people think or say about me, it doesn’t bother me at all. But on the other hand, I often find it difficult dealing with emotions triggered by even a slightest setback in my daily course of life, such as a chip in the windshield, a leaky faucet, etc. Mentally, I completely understand the unreasonable degree of emotional reaction I am experiencing, yet I find it very hard to extinguish the anxiety with logical thoughts. Any advice how to deal with such emotions? Would be interested to hear in one of the next videos ;)

Imagine buying a lottery ticket, all of your numbers come up and you have won millions! Unfortunately, you then realize that same lottery ticket is in your trouser pocket in the washing machine whirring away as soon as the numbers come up! Being bleached-away right as it is announced _"There Is Only One Very Lucky Winner!"_ ... But at least your trousers will be clean. Always look on the bright side I guess. ):

@@GregBoswell428 No, but I did read about something similar happening to somebody else. I also read a horrifying tale of daftness about someone who won millions on the lottery and so sent the winning ticket *BY POST* to the lottery company in order to gain their prize. Of course... It got lost in the post! I have also read a story about a workplace lottery syndicate that won and the woman that had bought the ticket, rather than sharing it as was agreed... Flew off to Las Vegas to spend it all! There must be all sorts of horror stories regarding lottery tickets and I'm only scratching the surface... Of a scratchcard!
