The Theory of Samsara

Ай бұрын

Our brothers and sisters have had enough. They are tired of the relentless rat race and the madness of worldly life. They no longer want to be dragged along by the greed of powerful men who are willing to sacrifice anything to achieve their goals.
Although we long for freedom and liberation we lack the skillful means to achieve that goal. And besides we don't even know what liberation is.
The Buddha taught "you are your own protector, you are your own worst enemy. Happiness does not depend upon external circumstances but is a quality of mind itself. To find freedom first one needs to tame one's own mind.

The spiritual path requires the heart of a warrior since we must cultivate legitimate forbearance and renunciation. At times, we may experience great exhaustion with worldy life and seeming endless stressors and pitfalls. Ideally, a warrior is a stalwart, never gives up, and always looks to the mission of protecting life. In this case, we are protecting our love/compassion and our connection to the Buddha Dharma. We must persist since the opportunity to practice and receive teachings from a qualified teacher is incredibly rare, even in an age of prolific information. I find it helpful to be grateful for this gift of life upon waking as well as when I can remember to think of my yidam/personal diety. When I'm able to accomplish this first thing in the morning, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. Thank you, Lama Choga! 🙏 🙏🙏

Well said! Heart of a warrior fighting a battle that few even see. That's the incredible part to me. The progress out of the material realm is immaterial, so one who is winning inwardly may appear to be losing outwardly. Takes a lot of resilience to accept that risk

My latest attachments: studying the ancient greeks, Indians, egyptians. Platonics, Buddha, Egyptian mythologies and teachings. Philosophy, Liberation ontologies and theology. Even though we incur adversities apon ourselves due to desires, they too seem, to a degree, may also be preparring us to better and more efficiently to face and overcome the adversities. In a sense, the error or desire, incurrence of adversity, and liberation, all make up into one thing the very lesson, purpose and path. I very much like this channel.

The world seems like it's on fire right now, but perhaps it has always been that way. I truly am tired of trying to fight the battles of the world; and keeping up with the weighty facade of western "manhood". I simply want to live, but humanity and human nature is born for conflict, violence and death. I see the darkness within myself, and I do not want to yield to such darkness. I often think about becoming a monk or hermit. Yet then I wonder. If I did become such; would I just be running away from my problems? Not facing life's trials head on? A strange predicament indeed. Thank you for your beautiful wisdom and soothing voice. Peace and blessings.

I just woke up! No, I mean I missed the show because I was asleep!😴 Sorry about that. In a world run by corporations, consuming products and displaying expensive status symbols is the sign of success, yet not wanting to keep up with the Jetsons is considered a crime! Without signalling your status, you are saying you have none but the lowest status. That means you are not protected by the same laws that the middle classes take for granted. "What good could ever come from homless people," is the assumption, so it is open season on the ostrisised as it was back in the dark ages. But the Buddha’s teaching shows me that all that happens to me is actually my fault, one way or another, which saved me from righteous revenge, which would have been terrible for all involved. Embracing the path has saved me from harming many people, which is such a relief. To put down the burden of needing revenge is wonderful! They say the price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and permanent mindfulness certainly is vigilance! So we could say eternal mindfulness is the price of freedom! Thank you so much, for helping to show the way. You have my infinite gratitude, love and respect. ♾️🙏✌🏻🧡

Lama, i have been wondering, is it true that we are all fundamentally alone and have no one but ourselves? Im 18 and recently lost all of my friends I have known for most of my life, girls that crushed on and imagined spending my life with just reject me. I am completely alone. But even if they didn't, and we all spent our lives happily together we would eventually be separated anyways. In our past lives we all had many friends and spouses that are now complete strangers to us. I am feeling that what is the point of it all, if people we love so dearly, that we cant live without and spend our lives with leave us and we inevitably get separated from them, they become just strangers. Even our spiritual friends, teachers, same thing will happen. It seems in this samsara we are all completely alone have no one except ourselves. i think i will leave home and become a hermit, since i don't have anything else to do anyways.

@@ultimatemeaning But they do have some conventional existence, right? Like Shakyamuni Buddha walked on earth and could be talked with. And we can connect with them and ask them for help. And there are prayers for various wordly and spiritual needs in the buddhadharma, buddhists pray all the time
@ultimatemeaning
@ultimatemeaning Ай бұрын
@@memesmojo5622 Yes Buddhists pray all the time, they love praying but the Buddha taught: "I can only show you the path to awakening, you alone must tread that path",and "I cannot wash away your sins with water, these hands cannot remove your sorrow, and realisation isn't something that I can give to you." And yes there is what is called the nirmanakaya form of a Buddha and Bodhisattvas can manifest in many forms even as prostitues and butchers, but this is a very complicated topic. The important thing to understand is that we need to transform our own minds and prayer is a way of reinforcing our commitment to the path.
