Thank you for this! I have a 10 year old site with lots of images. Anyway to clean that up. I've always disliked those duplicates but never was sure on how to best remove them! Please and thank you

That's caught me out so many times in the past, not zeroing out the medium and large fields. Actually, I only started doing after watching one of your videos. This snippet is a massive time (and definitely space) saver. Many thanks, Imran.

One thing: you emphasise and re-emphasised the fact that you didn't make any changes in Media Settings. Does it make a difference if one has already made changes?

Once I disable creation of additional image sizes and delete olders copies of the disabled email sizes, how to change the older urls in the database that are still referencing to the deleted image sizes?

Nice one. I guess iwe could still add our custom image sizes as well, because I guess it makes sense to have one image size that is your blog's content width.

Would this be recommended for a webshop? I always assumed this is to increase the loading speed because the webshop/website would load the most suitable image for the specific device/screen resolution? As I said, I assume, so I might be completely wrong. Can you say anything regarding this point?

It’s meant to load the most suitable image but doesn’t always follow that and you may still get issues of inappropriate sizing for different devices

Unfortunately - you got to do that manually. I am still testing a safe way to do that for previously uploaded images.

@@websquadron any way to do that? I found only one plugin that support deleting original after converting to webp, but that plugin (Swift Train) no longer work and development halted
