I relate so hard to your struggles with the humidity as I’m also Caucasian with very similar hair texture to yours. I studied in Nagoya from May - August and I constantly felt like this sweaty, frizzy mess compared to all my Japanese girl friends who seemed magically unaffected by the insane humidity 😅 I’m from Arizona (US Southwest) so I’m used to a muuuch dryer climate. Frizzy waves coupled with feeling taller and bigger than most Japanese (170 cm, 59 kg at the time) really got to me! Despite my insecurity though, I found other girls were always so sweet and complimentary and even envious that my waves were natural. I wish I hadn’t been so worried about it in retrospect 💕 I think you’ll find short hair a lot more manageable for days you do decide to fully style it, too. You look beautiful before and after! Keep the confidence going girl, you rock it ✌️

I do the Curly Girl method, it is amazing I used to think the same about my hair. Now since I've been on it I actually like and appreciate it, curls and all.

Love it! I found that all natural shampoo and conditioner really helps curls. My hair actually forms curls now instead of being straight in the front and weird crinkles in the back. I didn’t know my hair was actually supposed to be curly until now!

I had super long hair for a long time and it was so fun when I chopped it all off to about the length you did. I have a very similar experience! Straightened my hair all my life because I didn’t know what to do with the frizzy waves. Did a korean magic perm and then just two weeks later discovered the curly girl method! Had to chop off my long hair and start anew. I’m very happy how my hair looks now and am thankful for the volume😆
