Creative use of inexpensive materials! I like the collapsible nature of the shelving, perfect for a pop up.

Great ideas. In the future, try using bolt cutters or even the tool you cut the chain with for cutting the closet racking.

Most of the big box stores you buy these racks in will cut them down to the size you need for free.

This is a great idea! We are looking to add storage along the roof like this, but I am not a fan of fabric bins in general - they don't hold up - and the price to purchase them is steep. I especially love the coat rack. Genius. Coats laying around really clutters up the space. Appreciate you sharing these ideas!

Nice job! I'm currently trying to figure out some overhead storage like what you got rid of, just to keep things off my one previous counter. 😁

Thanks. Yeah, with most pop ups, space is so limited. One has to get creative and make the most of limited resources. Thanks for watching!!

Consider plastic covers for those wire ends, so you don’t get scratched up in the dark. Also glow tape

Hi, I hope you still have the pup. The Jayco you have looks like it was made by forest river. Now onto mods: #1 Ditch that fabric overhead storage bag (forest river), and mount suspension rod storage shelving. #2 get a cabelas folding dresser and mount onto interior counter or outside under awning.

We use these zippered packing cubes. Each one of us gets their own. We usually can fit all the clothes we need for a trip in one per person. Pretty compact. Fit well in the new hanging shelves. But I think you might be able to use bins too. The nice thing about this design is that you can make the shelves whatever distance you want in between.

My pop-up is a Jayco also and the ceiling is just aluminum over styrofoam with a few 2x2's here and there. Are those just sheet metal screws going into the ceiling? Does the weight put too much strain on the ceiling or the roof? Thanks for the great video!
@andersonsoutdoors4873
@andersonsoutdoors4873 6 жыл бұрын
Bradley Bolt I’m not sure the construction of the ceiling/roof. The connections we used were factory installed and have held up well with both the previous shelving and the new stuff we just built. But certainly be sure of what you are doing if you put screws into your ceiling. Maybe you can find the 2x2’s using a stud finder - just like at home. Just a thought! Thx for watching.…..... AO

Just get rid of it and get a nice hard top rv. I had a viking pop up for about 8 years and hated it. My two favorite times when I had it was when I bought it and when I sold it last year. I now have a nice 2008 32' with two slide outs that I purchased for $5000 last year.

We really went back and forth between a travel trailer and a pop up. We finally settled on the pop up because we could tow it with the vehicle we already had and it would fit in our garage. No RV's allowed outside in our neighborhood. But there are numerous positives to having a travel trailer, of course. Glad you landed on something you enjoy and can get out with! Thanks for watching, Brian. See you on the road..................................................AO

People buy popups because it's a step up from tents, without spending a fortune on a TT and a tow vehicle. The prices for a new truck are ridiculous these days. easy to spend other people's money I guess.

The belt rack is one of the best additions we made. In a small space like a popup, there is no good place to put jackets. It has allowed us to have plenty of space for that. Recommend!

Hi Misty. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Everything we got was purchased at Lowes and could probably be purchased at any hardware store. Any type of chain could be used and carabiners of various sizes can be used to attach the chain to shelf. I would recommend just making a list of the items you want to modify in your camper and then based off the video, make a list of the things you will need to get at the hardware store. You can get these types of things through Amazon as well. The modifications we made can and should be modified to fit your particular camper and needs. We don't really want you to do exactly what we did, but use the ideas we came up with to spur your creativity. Make the mods to your camper that you are excited about and that will work for your specific situation. That being said, feel free to ask any other questions regarding modifications - I would be happy to try to help. Comments here work well, or you can follow us on Insatgram and DM us there.

@@jenleduc5494 We are the original owners. Those D-rings were standard from the factory. We have not drilled any holes in the roof of the popup. What kind of popup do you have? Maybe you can find out if you can attach some screws up into the roof if there are some studs in there. Be sure before you drill! That could be a mess if you punch a hole in your lid.
