Knotty's mom may not love him very much but the other female adores him. I think he is just so sweet. I wish he could play with the other babies but his care giver won't let him go long enough to do anything. To bad she can't nurse him. I hope he does well.

It's really sad that even in the monkey world there's bad and good mom's. I can't believe how this mother monkey doesn't care about her baby monkey. Thank God he has loving Aunties. One of them is really young, but their better mom's than his own mother.

Such a great video! We love you sweet Knotty! So sad to see him gnawing on leaves when he should have been playing with the other boys or snuggled up to Mom & nursing. I too wondered why he didn't make a run for her. He certainly had the opportunity. At least his caretakers love him. Thank you again for this wonderful series. And I adore little Dopey. 🐒

I agree it’s very odd behavior! Not the way Knotty normal is at all. In the past she’s trying to escape to run to Mom and they’re holding her back. Not only does Knotty not seem to care but both her OLDER SIBLING AND AUNT SEEM TERRIFIED for Knotty to go anywhere near her Mom. They both keep glancing over there and making sure they constantly have Knotty under control.

I wonder if knotty's caregivers are high up on the hierarchy in this group & Knotty's mom is lower in the hierarchy and they kinda stole Knotty from his mother? But they know he needs to nurse so they give him to her for that but she can't really do anything about them taking her baby so she goes & does her own thing but stays close so he can nurse? It's a theory. It does happen in primate society. This could be what's going on here? You don't see Knotty's mother hanging out with these two, maybe they did indeed steal him from her. That's why they won't let him go & play.

How is Knotty ever going to learn if he is never allowed to play with others or explore his environment? He must still need to be nursed- if his mom is seldom around how does he get enough to eat?

Could it possibly be a battle between Auntie, like. "See what I have, and you can't have it"? Or "I got it first, and it's mine!" Like two kids fighting over a toy. First Auntie, won't let go for fear second Auntie will get him. Jealous sisters

I think some of these comments are too hard on Gypsy it’s not like she asked to get pregnant for all we know if she had the choice she may prefer to only be an auntie then a mother. She literally gives no fucks about her baby being only a few feet from her shit if we didn’t have captions I wouldn’t even know Knotty was hers. And Knotty has given up to the point he is not scrambling to get to her. He just want to be let go to play.... furthermore, we don’t know if the caretaker is actually a good one she just has a baby who knows mom doesn’t care rarely cuddles/groom and has very strict rules for the milk bar.

My opinion is Knotty has a family who accepts him and a mother who loves him. I wonder how he fit in .

I disagree, Knotty never seems to coo like the other babies do when they're kidnapped, he is fond of the one carer and plays with older cousins. He was comforted by both the time his mom bite his tail. Too much caring going on to be a kidnapping. IMHO

i think knotty's mother is just "unfit" and "not" interested in that baby at all. sadly, and though she does not deserve it, he love's her. he's lucky to have these gals watch over him when she won't

Poor baby. His aunties are great mothers. Much better than his real mom is. Sadly being warched by aunties means he can't play, learn or socialize. Only mother can say he's allowed to go off and play. So the aunties responsible for him won't/can't let him go. His terrible mother is causing him to miss out on vital states of his life and development. He needs play mates to teach him the ways of the world. His social status. How to fight and love. Make life long friends and enemies. If she keeps this up he won't stand a chance in the real world. He needs some motherly affection. Wouldn't doubt it if her treatment twords him will cause emotional stunting. Good thing he isnt female. Don't want mom's mothering to wear off on a future mother. Heck it may have been how she herself was raised. I wonder why she didn't just abandon him at birth? She basically has already left him as you only see them together when she decides to give him a suckle and even then he has to be fast and inhale his milk cause she sticks around 5 minutes tops.

For a story thats suppose to be about knotty, dopey sure is in it alot. Knotty is my favorite, and i was all happy about this one supposedly being all about knotty, but atleast half of the story was about dopey. That really sucked. Love you videos but i am getting tired of seeing dopey all the time. And the only reason that i am tired of seeing dopey is because all he does is breastfeed. Its just really boring watching dopey. Even though he is so cute.

Love watching them strutting, running, hanging, climbing trees, jumping and even trying to "get milk". The ways he try's to sneak around mom. And the expression on their little faces. You just know what they are thinking, or what they are going to get into. It seems that Knotty has had more freedom in the past, just the last couple times having no freedom., an I thinking right? Please correct me if I'm wrong..... I also love lil' Mickey. Have you seen him lately? But my love is "Dopey". Knotty Looks more like a captive , holding against his will. It may have started, just helping, since mama just don't have the mother instincts any longer, they just decided they keep and love him. Just has become extreme! God bless these babies, watch out for their wellbeing. Give food to nourish their little bodies, peace and acceptance of their life path.
