It's so funny seeing Toby in interviews, you'd never think he was such a joker given how intense his role as Flint is. It speaks volumes about his skills as a performer

It may sound exaggerated but Toby Stephens is one of the very best actors I’ve ever seen. You can SEE that during those intense scenes and I pay particular notice to his speeches and battle cries in Black Sails. You know, being a national level debater in my country, I can tell you that the man delivers excellently. He is an actor that never disappoints. And lastly, it’s extremely sad how underrated he is. I wish him to make it HUGE soon.

I couldn't agree more with you on this. I'm in constant awe of how brilliant his acting is. Not only in BS. Incredible potential for various types of characters. He's unique.

Ik there are a million of them but I think Toby also played an antagonist in one of the 007 series. Still criminally underrated along with this whole show and everyone who worked on it (actors, stuntmen, custome/set designers, writing etc. They set out to make a really good pirate show and hot damn did they deliver)

I love this cast. Shame they don't have more fun interviews together, they usually get asked a couple of boring questions (not like these) and that's that Also, no no one ever interviewed the guys responsible for building the ships, making the costumes, or planning the fight sequences (all of which look amazing) and I think that's a shame

Zack is a real life pirate. His dad was a tough Irishman and he and his brothers always were in fights

Toby doesnt seem like he is part of thw group..... So many interviews with yhe main cast and hes in almost none of them

I’d assume it’s kinda cause he’s the most famous of the cast and so he’s in more demand.

@@KJ_1810: he's also considerably older than the others. He's in his mid to late 50s while they are in their 30s or perhaps even 20s

My impression is that most of the cast is single. In contrast, Toby is a married man and father of three. In addition to being a family man, he has been a successfully recovering alcoholic for 30 years and therefore would not be participating in balcony-climbing for rum.
