I still don't have any idea how can be this pack? From the video on the internet doesn't seems people panic like the stampede in Indonesia stadium (which that case is because of tear gas and people are funnels to small place). In one of the video before the tragedy, people are laughing and that already so pack people cannot move.

@@anubizz3 hey, so the thing is, that the alley apparently fell downwards. People weren't able to see, what was going on even a few meters away. Some channels also said, that the crowd number had risen out of nowhere. Why is not clarified but there are several rumors. The alley already was apparently extremely famous and well known. There were a lots of restaurants, bars etc. Some also claimed, that there was a rumor of someone extremely famous being there. But maybe it was all just caused by poor crowd control due to underestimating the situation. A lots of news channels have talked about it, how crowd crushes happen etc. I actually explained it at first but I don't want anyone of the bereaved to stumble upon details, they rather do not wish to know. The thing I changed was the word "thing" at the beginning. Autocorrect had changed it to "this". All I can say is, that I wish the deceased to r.i.p and the surviving dependents, acquaintances and witnesses all the strengths and help they need.

@@jennifer-oe2dq The alley was supposedly was on a hill, so there was kind of a slope. I'm assuming the big crowd was because it was Halloween and also that area is a popular nightlife area (lots of people around). Not to mention they had just recently lifted COVID restrictions so people were eager to go out and celebrate and have fun

I am Iranian and I looked up all 5 Iranian victims. They were all in their 20s, PhD graduates working as experts in their field in Korea. The saddest part is that their families are unable to travel to Korea due to the intensive protests in Iran, the Iranian airports have been shut down. I am working with the embassies to see if I can help in any way as I am based in Europe and can travel to South Korea. This was a senseless, preventable tragedy for the 156 beautiful kids who perished, however it is specially tough on foreigners who can't come collect their babies bodies !! Iran lost 5 amazing professionals and we are devestated. RIP to all the 156 innocent young girls and boys and I wish a speedy recovery for the remaining 150 injured. I send my deepest condolences to all parents. This pain is unimaginable beyond belief. I can only pray for unlimited amount of strength for the families. The selfish Korean president should have had the police force located where the 100K crowd were instead of sending them to tackle the antigovernment protests at another part of the town !! Dictators are the same all around the world ! Selfish !!

@@dalebergman5548 - no no. I'm sorry, but if u knew how this president's handpicked inexperienced staff f✓cked up from beginning to end, y'all would be flabbergasted. A lot of them could've been saved, but for the mayor's bizarre calls to turn the ambulance... sigh. There's one Korean mother who translated the situation in English, but western media has moved on. There's still ongoing protests... Korean Conservative party is the epitome of incompetence, corruption, arrogance, & ruthlessness. I'm not saying that cuz I'm a liberal, cuz S. Korean Liberals r still more conservative than western conservatives, so imagine how backward Korean Conservatives r. The ferryboat tragedy that took hundreds of young lives happened under the previous impeached Conservative president too. I wish westerners would look into the latest report. That's the only way persons responsible will be held accountable. I was thinking of contacting the American parents to tell them... but I'm dealing w/chaos in my own life. I'm Sorry.

May all the victims of this tragedy rest in peace. A family of one of the Russian girls that passed away on the night of the incident is raising money to transport the body from S.K. to Russia. Unfortunate, that due to political tensions their stories could not be shared/mentioned in this video. It's easily predictable disaster, especially places like in Korea. Korea really needs sincere apology and compensation to foreign victims as well. But I'm 100% sure people like Koreans cannot do that blaming everything each other. This is why especially foreigners shouldn't go there.

This was caused by unorganization, impatience, lack of compassion for others and overcrowdness. It broke my heart seeing people yell ' PUSH PUSH PUSH' which encouraged the crushing in that alley. Why would you want to push people? Why did no one think to just turn around? One crowd could have went through first. They could have taken turns. But this generation is so impatient. So sad.
@latinasawntop
@latinasawntop Жыл бұрын
Exactly. The hill alley thing gave me so much anxiety, obviously because that’s where it went downhill, but seeing people from the top who were trying to go down pushing and shoving the people trying to come up, who are on a bit of ledge. It was so irresponsible. This would of been prevented if people weren’t so impatient, like you said, and careless. Not the slightest bit of empathy from people still walking around and laughing/smiling with ambulances and unconscious bodies right next to them. I would certainly live with the guilt forever.
@DanteOokami
@DanteOokami Жыл бұрын
I hope the ones in the back who yelled, "PUSH" feel guilty for the Domino Effect they caused/started. Especially as a lot of people were telling them not to do it. That said, what miffs me is what I heard about the crowd control....there was none, not even enough cops around to help, even when 4 hours prior people were calling nonstop and begging for help. I read from a Korean writer that SK's President had over 700 police protecting just him that night while more were at another loction for another smaller incident, whereas when the Itaewon Incident happened only about 200 cops or less for 100'000 people were present. Makes you wonder why they prioritised one man who would've been fine with bodyguards around him and maybe 50 police than the future generations who just wanted to enjoy life. (Also saw a video of one poor cop who was trying so hard to control the crowds but no one paid too much attention to him as he was alone with no back up).

I mean... It wasn't like it was a festival or a concert or anything , itaewon has always been that packed on weekends as youngsters love to go there for drinking or just roaming around but as the civic restrictions were just lifted a few days before the incident people got excited and didnt think about what was going to happen next , yes it could have been prevented if more police officers were there to keep the crowd under control but many people went into the alley knowing the sheer mass of people already there... So let's not blame people out here as it was a tragedy that was bound to happen one way or another.

Catarina, I 💯 agree with you. This has been prevented in previous years & this year it was different… If we don’t acknowledge that like some aren’t, then how can proper change happen? What changed this year that contributed to this tragedy? What changed this year that could’ve prevented it like in the past? If we don’t want this to happen again, hard questions need to be asked, reality needs to be acknowledged, a search for solutions, and ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTING the solutions needs to happen… All to prevent more precious people from dying…

@springroll3800
@springroll3800 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry if this comes out as rude,but the Indian accident happened because of stupidity,not because of panic. You don't cross a lame suspended bridge hundreds of people at the same time,it's pretty clear it's definitely not gonna bear the massive weight and collapse,even a child would recognize that.
@z.a.8912
@z.a.8912 Жыл бұрын
@@springroll3800 the bridge only allows 150 people at a time but the people in charge forced 600 people onto it. The bridge was built by the british and was closed for years for repairs. It only recently opened. Which is why indian people are angry because there should have been better control by officers in charge. India has a giant population, many people were workers on their way home and it was at night where people couldn't see clearly. So yes, your comment is rude and ignorant. By your logic, calling indians stupid for going on the bridge, then koreans shouldn't have been in the alleys because they were so small and should have just seen it was busy and avoided them altogether instead of joining the crowds. But in korea and india, what has happened is awful and my heart aches for the victims and their families. No one should be blaming the victims for what is quite clearly the fault of the government and those in charge. A little bit of empathy for people around the world not just in first world/developed countries would make you a better human being.
@roshill2010
@roshill2010 Жыл бұрын
@@springroll3800 Yeah I consider both cases stupid and sad. 1. The cops in Korea and the cops in India not checking and enforcing any safety measures at all for such a huge crowd. 2. People pushing People in Korea cause someone screamed push isn't stupid than what is?. People in India jumping around and making the bridge shake is also stupid. Needless lives lost. You cannot convince me that stupidity isn't everywhere. It's People creating problems that killed other people. Rest in peace to the people. These incidents were both equally horrible and sad. And very avoidable as well.
@springroll3800
@springroll3800 Жыл бұрын
@@roshill2010 there's definitely stupidity in what happend in Itaewon but panic played a major role,people found themselves crushed by others out of the blue. Of course,the police is heavily responsible for this,I still find crazy that the they couldn't detect a massive stampede considering the amount of CCTVs,but the dynamics are objectively different. Still,I cry for those that have lost their life,dying these ways is a horrible way to go :(

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4. I know they are in a place, where all their wounds have been erased. For those of you who believe in Jesus and even unbelievers listen to Casting Crowns - Scars in Heaven, it might bring some comfort.

It's easily predictable disaster, especially places like in Korea. Korea really needs sincere apology and compensation to foreign victims as well. But I'm 100% sure people like Koreans cannot do that blaming everything each other. This is why especially foreigners shouldn't go there.
