I use florist wire to string my peppers, it’s nice because the cut wire already acts as a needle and then you don’t need to worry about knotting it properly because you can just twist the ends together 😉😉😉 I start my pepper wires as soon as I start getting extras. I just add to it all season long because I can untwist the ends when I need to add more and it stays hanging in my pantry.

my favourite part, was when you young boys were stringing the peppers. I wish you could make a candle out of those peppers so I can burn the scent of that beautiful moment in time. Life gives you so many peppers 🤎🤍🤎🤍🤎🤍🤎🖤

This brought back so many childhood memories! I am from IA but spent Summers in AL with my grandfather. He taught me to pick and string the pepper from his garden when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I thought it was just "busy work". Then to see my grandma cook with those dried peppers from the previous season made me proud to contribute to the meal!

i prefer tying with thinner string, bc it seems using needle and thread through the caps, 30% fall off the thin thread as they dry. This year I'm trying rubber banding the caps, seems to be working so far. Some varieties of peppers work much better than others for hang drying, some varieties develop mold.

If the overhand knot is good enough for surgeons, it's good enough for hanging papers. When you guys are doing the pepper drying chore, you should sing some folk music. That's how you make the chore go fast.😉

I saw a homestead family make their own Korean chili powder (gochugaru) with the extra peppers they had. Seems pretty easy to make just got to be careful with gloves and air circulation.

The sound effects are so simple and probably unnoticeable to some, but to me they're hilarious. The dried cattails dropping off the boards, then Jacques gives a good ole PAP to that banana tree. 😂 it's such a simple thing but please never stop adding it. It's kinda golden.

I must say, it is nice to see I'm not alone in struggling to do some garden stuff I've never done before. It's encouraging in an odd way, because I've seen the incredible things you've done in the garden. Reminds me that just because I have a fair number of flops, it doesn't mean I won't have a great garden this year.

You can also tie the string around the stems and tie a very tight knot. I used to do it like that before I had a dehydrator. It's maybe a little more work, but definitely not a lot, and it's not as hard on the hands as pushing a needle through a tough stem over and over. A good alternative for people who don't want to or can't work with needles!

Hi guys, Ya'all can always tie the peppers into a wreath form. In fact, I've seen peppers made specifically into ornamental wreaths to hang on doors--quite lovely. Btw, Kevin, you should check into getting a thimble to protect your finger from the needle. 😊
