Brad, I think there’s actually a great interest in downsizing content over the last year or so on KZfaq. Like you were talking about, it’s something a lot of people have been doing, so I think it’s relatable. I will still enjoy watching your videos no matter how many groups you collect. I have been downsizing my collection for over a year and it’s nowhere near as big as yours. I started when I realized I couldn’t keep up with the 20+ versions per comeback for the groups I really truly stan, let alone groups I just casually enjoy. I think you are definitely onto something with the companies creating burnout amongst people who tend to have completionist tendencies.

Don’t worry about downsizing I mainly watch your channel because your funny bro like I watch the videos where you aren’t even putting away groups ik mainly cause your funny!! :) You should prioritize whatever works for you :)

i stopped collecting kpop recently, and it was such a relief. i been collecting since 2019, and kpop companies and photocards are no where near the same as it was back then. the prices in items, vast amount of different album versions plus the large quantity of cards is just way too much, plus the merch and the concert tickets that cost near rent money. i tried to collect just want i liked, but my OCD just doesn’t like the idea of misc collections lol. and i just felt that kpop collecting was such an expensive hobby just for the cards to sit in binders.. the hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars i spent could go to something better. so i decided to just drop everything, and at first it was really hard. but, now i haven’t collected for about an year and it’s just..feels freeing almost? i saved so much money, and collecting anime figures now..which idk why in my mind i said it was cheaper because it’s literally not😂 but, not just money-wise, i have had so much time to get back into my hobbies and start enjoying myself more rather being on social media 24/7 because i felt the need to know every single small thing about a new video of a kpop group that was uploaded, a comeback, a selfie, etc etc.

bestie we watch you for you and your personality, you could collect only one member from one group and I’d still be tuned in every week! also congrats on your graduation 🫶

do whatever you want with your collection be selfish dont worry about how some viewers might feel because it's YOUR collection & YOUR money so like lol + you're fun to watch no matter what you collect

speaking of collections…I honestly have put mine on indefinite hold..I’m a loona collector and with all their new releases I’m overwhelmed with all the merch and albums…I’m now only buying items if it’s signed for retail price..it’s hurts to not collect more but it’s all insane amount of money 😭😭

I also have rules for myself. I buy one version of an album for some groups. I collect only album cards for some. I am strict about keeping pulls I like but don’t need (I can’t). It helps me budget. You do what works for you.

abt ppl wanting to see those big ass collections: I actually prefer the downsize videos lmao they're really fun and just so real and it's lowkey nice to see people deciding to be more mindful abt their collections yk sooo I'm very looking forward to that binder maintainance, and collection plans videos (and possibly the downsizing one too? if you plan on filming that)

I really feel you. I mean sure I’d love to just spend all my money on kpop like I did when I was a kid, but that’s just not feasible. Recently I’ve also been trying really hard to deprioritize collecting, and I’d imagine that it’s way harder to do when you have a whole KZfaq channel dedicated to it. But there is nothing wrong with downsizing, especially in times like these where companies are well and truly pushing the limits

I can’t wait for your chatty video about kpop goals and the collecting community because I have been having the same thoughts, I have also just recently made the decision to only collect txt and no longer seventeen (the only two groups I was collecting lmao) and I’m selling over 100 pcs but still keeping 45 in a retired binder. So I just want to say never apologise for doing what you want and I promise we subscribers don’t care if you collect 1 group or 100 because we watch your videos for YOU! ❤

I think most of us 100% understand your decision to downsize, I've only been collecting for less than a year but I'm pretty overwhelmed, and I only really collect NCT... so I can't imagine doing that for as many groups as you! A lot of other people I follow are also downsizing, so it's been very interesting seeing how everyone is curating their collections.

If there is content that you're able and willing to make, I will happily watch :) ❤ I also don't mind how long vids are, I'm not a collector, I just find it satisfying and fun to watch while I cross stitch or journal :)))

I have been putting on your videos while I do K-pop deco stuff or crafts or even doing my own collection and it feels like a FaceTime with a friend! Ultimately, downsizing will always be your decision and if it makes you happy then go for it!!

omg back when i was young i used to make selfmade photocards (like full on printing them black & white and coloring them) cause i wasn't financially independent + they were/ are so EXPENSIVE.. that kinda healed me lmao 😭😭 like a full on self made collection

if you wanna downsize a collection you can sell all of it and people can make gos and for packaging you can put the cards in a old binder and some bubble wrap ❤️ cuz one day i sold lot of photocards and i didn't have enough toploders i just stored them in a binder and add bubble wrap on top and under the pages and it worked well 😊

Congrats on graduating! I have one more semester to go and then I'll be done, too 😭 ~ I've also down-sized my collection a bit. Some companies have been going a bit buckwild with the album versions (for single albums, no less) and as much as i like seeing s concept reach its full potential physically, i like having money to spend on my other hobbies too😅 Can't wait for your collection goals video! Hi Brad, I've been on a journey to downsize as well. It's been very hard to depart from some of my collections, but I've noticed the moment they are no longer with me, I kinda forget about them. I used to ot5 collect red velvet, le sserafim and collect six members of nct. I've kinda learned to just stop caring and I've been only buying one version of albums these days. it's been better on my wallet to do this and start focusing on life goals because I live on my own and I recently turned 23. It does take multiple days honestly to post pictures of stuff on mercari ngl lol but it's worth it! Now all I collect is Jaehyun, Sakura, Yeri, and Renjun album cards and no pobs and I feel so much better lol.

8:54 I recently saw this happen within my group of friends, most of the time they are very invested in collecting all available members and PCs, but when they saw that the new release of ATEEZ had 1 PC out of 8 FOR EACH OF THE EIGHT MEMBERS (aka 64 pcs in this version only) they collectively rethought the whole situation and some even started to downsize their collections and establish member priorities I started to reduce my collection around 2022, used to collect 15 complete groups and some bias, lines and units from casual groups. I sold over 1500 cards and now I'm just with BTS OT7 (oldest collection and kinda living in heaven now that they are making 1 or 2 FIXED pcs per album), my bias line from TWICE (which although random has 3 PCs per album), my ATEEZ bias line (before I collected the entire group, then reduced cards, kept only the ones I liked and decided that I would only buy the three that I'm focusing on). For individual members I'm only with Haneul from KIss of Life (recent debut with few pcs) and Chaewon from lesserafim (I love her so much). And that's it. Every now and then I still look at my collection to see if there is anything I can remove, even when I pull other members I try to sell or trade immediately so I don't have the temptation to collect the entire group again

I’ve been feeling really similar about collecting, i downsized and sold a lot of cards and am now focusing a few specific collections and have been enjoying it a lot more!

I get the downsizing. I haven't been collecting that long and mainly focus on SvT and BTS and I already think it's a lot to keep up with. So I also just buy an album for other groups when I really like the album and then keep the pulls. It just adds up really quickly. And if you really like a photocard or a set, you can always find it somewhere at some point. It's not going anywhere after all :) And don't worry, we will still enjoy your videos! It's okay not to have certain cards as well, its not the end of the world :)
