Storm Callum - Travelling to Fishguard. Extreme Weather,Wales, UK.
What a wet and windy day! Well, it's not surprising as Storm Callum is doing the rounds. Imo and Izzy head down to Cardiff together, and later Imo travels across Wales to Fishguard for a gig, keeping an eye on the progress of the storm as she goes. She passes through Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire on her way.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We love getting out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.

What a crazy weather world we are going towards.. this is the second year I can remember these things have hit all the way by you. Glad you all are safe!

Thank JK. Ah, it wasn't a bad one at all - just a little disruption. Enough to make life interesting. Are these things happening more often? I'm not sure... maybe? I can remember worse weather from my early childhood including severe flooding in Cardiff when the River Taff burst its banks and submerged a lot of Cardiff centre, seriously deep snow that shut schools for what seemed like weeks and droughts that cut off water supplies in our homes so we had to share standpipes in the street for our water.

That is definitely one of the perks of being a musician, and one of the reasons I wanted to start vlogging: we spend so little time in places and tend to be too focused on the gig itself to fully take in and appreciate our surroundings. This way I get to take more of it in during the editing process and of course, have a keepsake in the form of a video afterwards.

We have had some of that wet stuff this week, due to the likes a Storm Callum etc in the Atlantic, but fortunately not as much as you had. I never got as far west as Fishguard, just Pembrey when racing down there.

I've never understood the UK storm naming nomenclature system. I saw several hotels I'd love to stay in and have a drink or five. I had a bit of a business venture with a fellow who was a piano rebuilder and he taught me a fair amount about those exposed actions.

The plan was to buy old upright player pianos and essentially restore all the parts to near original equipment condition (new gaskets and tubing, etc) and convert them into coin-operated machines for use in bars and pubs and restaurants. A nickelodeon player piano. I'd seen his work in North Carolina and he actually produced one of these things out here in my garage. It was beautiful. Moral of story -- don't get into business with a swindler and a drug addict. Learned a lot though.

We run quickly, bending over it to shelter it as much as we can! Ha ha! And if the rain's really heavy we just wait it out a bit til it's not so heavy.
