Today has been one hell of a wicked day for the UK. Storm Eunice battered the country with winds gusting up and above 50kts, reaching a record of 61kts at one time! Some may say this is too much, but of course I couldn't resist a trip down to Heathrow to watch the action. The storm certainly did not disappoint, so many go arounds and windy approaches! This video contains some of the best action from today.
At one point nothing could literally land due to strong windshear on the approach. Planes continued to abort and some even diverted to places such as Paris, Newcastle and as far away as Zurich! The best go around was definitely the Qatar A380, such an impressive sight to see!
A big well done to all the pilots out there today, and all the ground crew as well! You guys deserve medals! Every decision made today, whether it was aborting a landing or diverting was a good and wise decision in my books!
I also got to meet up with some fellow enthusiasts who were attracted to the storm, including AvTom of which I will leave a link to his youtube channel down below. I was also joined by my brother, and a few other enthusiasts who I didn't quite catch the names of
There is so much footage in general to go through, but expect a full compilation from this day in the coming days
Hope you all enjoy this video and thanks for watching! It was a great but insane day!
