For me Spider-Man the animated series was on Saturday mornings along with X-men. Batman & Gargoyles were on after school at 4:30pm competing with each other, I never forgave Disney for putting Gargoyles up against Batman, so I watched Batman and had to catch up with Gargoyles over the summer when they ran reruns. The times before DVR and trying to record on a VCR for an 8yr old was a nightmare!

This is one of those shows i did watch on tv... but that was in like the early 2000s, so a bit later than 94. Probably wouldnt have known what was happening in 94 either as i was a baby at the time lol. Probably a country barrier, as im not english in any shape or form.. it was dubbed though.

@@DensilGrant yeah man things were not nearly as cool when all there was to watch was power rangers on weekdays & cartoons saturday morning... i didn't mind though 'cause before that i lived in the middle east where there was just no TV at all. i'm so jealous of kids today who can literally watch anything whenever they want with just a few clicks... until i see them socialize 😬 but then i'm like yeah right i would have totally chosen spider-man over breaking into a quarry to bomb down the hills on a crappy bicycle or whatever idiocy we got up to in the 90's after school...

You totally missed one of the most significant plot points. The Mary Jane that had mysteriously reappeared and subsequently got married to Peter, turned out to be a watery creation of Hydro-Man in some twisted fantasy where he could be with MJ, but even as his own creation, she rejected him. In the aftermath of this discovery Hydro-Man was defeated by Spider-Man but water MJ melted or lost cohesion and technically died. Edit- I had recently watched a clip of the referenced scene and I forgot how horrifying it was when Peter screamed Mary Jane's name in all his helplessness after she evaporated.

They also missed the initial Kraven fight, in which spidey helps Sergei (the main reason why Kraven helps The Punisher in aiding Man-Spider) and The Spot confrontation (who is basically the whole reason why the portal tech exists).

That's not how the show ended...Peter married a clone of Mary Jane that later perished. The final episode ended with Madam Web taking Peter to find the real Mary Jane that was lost in a dimensional warp.

Remember watching this right after school in 1st grade. Then 5 years later hearing that a live action Spider Man movie was being made. The rest is history. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it

This Spiderman series, Batman animated series, X-Men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was my childhood. Those cartoons basically raised me and taught me many life lessons, I look back very fondly and helps me remember innocent happiness. Shame that many children will not experience the wonderful memories that myself and people raised in the early-mid 90's experienced.

Damn, I was born 12/31/79. I was certainly blessed because I grew up during the age of great cartoons/kids shows!! Saturdays mornings and after school was totally awesome!!! I went from watching GI Joe, He-Man, the Real Ghostbusters, and TMNT in the 80s/early 90s, and going straight into Batman, Superman, JL, X-Men, Power Rangers, and of course, Spider-Man through the rest of the 90s. And all the toys to go with every last one of em!!!Man what a time it was to be a kid!!!

I love this show!!! I watched this show as a little kid back when the episodes still aired on Fox Kids in like 2007! Hoo!! That was a long time ago, and I still remember it fondly, especially symbiote Spiderman jeebus. I loved his scream of "shocker!!!! you can't escape me! I'll chase you down to the ends of the earth!!!!!"

To this day, Spider-man TAS, X-MEN TAS and Batman TAS remain my absolute favorites. A big reason for that is because of the voice cast from all these shows. Those actors were perfect for those characters. That is also one of the reasons why the corespondent movies never moved me in the same way. The 90's were the epitome of great cartoons. Being born in the mid 80's I grew up with these, along Centurions, Defenders of The Earth, Captain Planet, Voltron, Saber Rider, to name but a few others. A truly awesome time to be a kid.

This is my favorite spiderman series along with the Spiderman and his amazing friends. So many great episodes and story line. The Venom Sage, Clone Saga, Madam Web, Beyonder are all fantastic. Unfortunate that Fox was showing random episodes here and there so never know what the ending was until now. So now am satisfied that I know how it ended.

Man this brings me back! As someone who didn't grow up with the comics this was really what I had when I was 8 years old in regards to super hero's. On the DC side it was Batman The Animated Series. To this day Spiderman is still my fav. Marvel superhero and it's bc of this show. I hope my kids have something like this when their growing up.

Good recap, but you missed a rather important plot point. That the Mary Jane who comes back after disappearong wasn't the real one. I can't remember exactly how it went, but she ends up having Hydroman type powers, and she's like a clone or something and ends up evaporating because she is unstable. So the Mary Jane he wasn't even the real one. And by the end, she is still missing with Peter and Madam Webb going off to look for her.

Y'all forgot one of the most significant plot point of the series involving MJ finding out she's a clone after the six forgotten warriors arc. When she was cloned, she retained all her memories of who she was, including that she was dating Peter, somehow breaks out of a lab to return to him, and marries Peter. Eventually, a cloned hydroman comes looking for her and Peter finds out that not only is she a clone, but her DNA is unstable and she's evaporating, forcing Peter to essentially watch her die twice. This then sets up the spider wars at the end, which involves Madam Web taking Peter to find his MJ at the end of the series.

This show is responsible for turning Kraven the Hunter, one of most famous Spider-Man villains, into more of anti-hero and an reluctant ally of Spider-Man. Many credit this as reason for Kraven not being featured as main villain in any of the movies, despite many fans asking for this to happen.

Sandman was the most notable absence of all of Spider-Man villains. He was absent from this show as they were trying to make him a main villain of Spider-Man 4, along with Vulture, which was ultimately scrapped. While Vulture did appear on this show, producers just couldn't find right time or story to introduce Sandman and he never made an appearance.

I wish the series ended like that. But the video did not mentioned that MJ was a clone and that she died. Then Spider-man tried to commit suicide, but was stopped by madam web. Then after the war was over and Spider-man finished his visit with Stan Lee, Madam web would help Peter Parker find MJ who was lost in the time displacement device. This TV series was great, but it ended on a huge cliffhanger. I hope one day someone would finish the story. Peter Parker needs a happy ending.
