The story of King Namrud who claimed to be God, was arrogant and cruel and was punished with mosquitoes
Arrogance is one of the traits hated by Allah SWT. In fact, because of this characteristic, a king who lived during the time of the Prophet Abraham, namely King Namrud, was punished by Allah.
King Namrud was known for having extraordinary treasures. The food reserves were abundant, the army was large, and the palace was magnificent with the tower of Babel of King Namrud.
With all these blessings and wealth, he behaved arrogantly. This characteristic apparently made him forget himself and claim to be God. He also asked for recognition from all his people.
Everyone who came to his palace to ask for food would be asked "Who is your God?" So, they all answered "You, O my king." King Namrud also gave them food.
Once when the Prophet Ibrahim came before the King of Namrud, he was asked "Who is your God?" Prophet Ibrahim also answered "My God is the One who gives life and causes death."
King Namrud again said "I can turn it on and off." So, Prophet Ibrahim asked King Namrud to make the sun rise from the West as Allah SWT did. "Allah raised the sun from the east, so he raised it from the west."
Didn't you notice the people who argued with Abraham about his Lord, because Allah had given him a kingdom (power). When Abraham said, "My Lord is the One who gives life and causes death," he said, "I can also give life and cause death." Ibrahim said, "Allah raised the sun from the east, so he raised it from the west." So the person who disbelieves is confused. Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.
