I read about people like Akbar while researching for a paper. He uses the same tactics many cult leaders use. Finding a vulnerable individual (she just got out of rehab), giving her what she wants and needs (helping her with her videos and career) isolation of her friends. Fortunately, Paris got investigated when she did, cause he was just sinking his teeth into her before making her apart of his group completely. He then used abuse to mess with her mind and make her feel like he is in control of her future…. He didn’t expect it to back fire

Akbar was extremely manipulative and gaslighted Tierra in every way imaginable. Tierra was absolutely a victim and she was manipulated in her most vulnerable moment by a man she thought truly cared for her. This is a form of abuse/domestic violence and unless you’ve experienced this kind of emotional abuse and manipulation, you may not understand from the outside looking in.

I've been through this same shit. One of my exes was so manipulative and abusive in every way and even tried to make me his sister wife with his baby mama and live in a three way relationship. I was so broken from my past family abuse that I thought that he was the best I could get and convinced me that I was lucky that anyone would be with me. Then one day, doing therapy, I realised that I deserved better and that my life started falling apart only when I started being with him. And just like Ahkbar, he was charming and sweet and loving and made me feel special in the beginning but it was a trap. Now I'm married to an amazing man, the absolute love of my life who treats me like a goddess and is so kind and patient and loving to me. That's what I want for Teairra. She deserves to have a man who would treat her right because she seems like an absolute sweetheart.

Like besides not wanting to show up for this one thing, Nikki has been there multiple times for Tierra and Tierra took it fore granted. Tierra was the one who involved them in her relationship by telling them all about it and then pulling Moniece and Brooke into that press conference, but then going back to Akbar and making Moniece and Brooke look stupid for supporting her. They were all supportive of her until she went back to the same guy she was complaining about leaking a sex tape on her.

Moneice set boundaries and I respect her for that. Abuse is hard and getting out of the cycle is tough not just on the victims but on their family and friends who try to support them through it; sometimes you have to choose you and love/support people from arms length. Side note: Brooke was the best part of this franchise. Beautiful, talented, unbothered, factual, stands by her words, and just the right amount of messy. Brooke and Teairra going back and forth at the restaurant is funny because they are both fiery. When Teairra looked back after hearing Brooke say something and said, "what did you say??" Brooke didn't say nothing. They are both crazy and on the same level of spit fire. I think that's why they kept it purely conversation. You can tell they were both upset, but neither one wanted it to escalate. They had a lot of restraint and ultimately enough respect for each other to not get crazy and physical with each other.

I feel so bad for Teairra, all she needed was a man that would support her not control her. Akbar thought Teairra was so broken that she couldn’t think for herself and would settle for some concubine bullshit, but he was wrong. I also wish that Teairra didn’t attack her friends for trying to help her find out the truth about Akbar. Nikki, Paris, Brooke and Moniece all tried to help her and she dismissed them but hopefully she’s ok now.

Nope she’s with another user now. T needs therapy not just from dating but not having her parents to lean on or dealing with being dropped in the manner she was. Notice T doesn’t have family her dad is absent and her Mom had a severe stroke that left her paralyzed. Sad to say Hazel E was a real friend to T and she burnt that bridge.

TT was all over the place. When everything hit the fan and people were like "that isn't my business or my battle" she was mad, she was dragging them for not supporting her, but when they talked about her going back to him (especially after Paris told her she would), then it's "IT'S MY BUSINESS" NO MAAM. YOU attacked the people who didn't come to the press conference and accused them of not supporting you, just for you to repeatedly put yourself BACK in the same situation...
