I love the way they've teased Thor and Odin in the last game, the way they built up the fear you should have for these two characters, like they're these monsters from a folktale you can't fathom the fact to be real.

This is a game based in norse mythology. Logically, it takes place in the northern hemisphere. This means that the Sun's path across the sky is tilted towards the south. Which means Atreus sent Skol chasing the Sun... towards the east. They're using the wolves to rewind time.

The "Mermaid" creature could also be this games version of a Nokk, a Norse Water spirit. It often takes the shape of a horse, but can appear as anything.

I don't think kratos will kill tyr instead tyr will sacrifice himself to protect kratos and atreus for the greater good..... Just my opinion

I truly believe that when Kratos drops his weapons is a message to everyone including himself that he's fed up with fighting. He doesn't want to battle anymore he wants to live in peace

at 8:30 I think the person Kratos is carrying is Freyr (Freya's brother) and Freya is trying to stop Kratos using her Vanir Magic. From what i've heard Freyr is also depicted to have a sword which you can see the scabbard on his back. I cant remember if she can use Vanir Magic out side of Vanaheim but to me that looks like Vanaheim anyways

Also an important thing to note from Mythology: Loki and Odin were, for a long time, friends and oath-brothers. Had a rocky relationship but a genuine one. I think they will be bonding a great deal in this game and the man in the mural from the last game is DEFINITELY Odin.

i think the two valkyries arent corrupted but are willing followers of odin, unlike the corrupted valkyries we fought during GOW 4 these ones seem to be, by their own free will, against kratos. They even taunt him saying "pretender god" and they also say "for the all father" which tells me they have pledged their allegiance to him . its either that or maybe odin used a diferent kind of corruption on these two valkyries in specific.

I don't think he will kill Tyr, because one of the scene in the trailer we will see Kratos and Tyr grabbing each arms together that's mean they will union their force, and Tyr represent the good things about being a GOOD GOD OF WAR, and knowing that Kratos is trying to demonstrate to Atreus the good way to be a good god, i dont think that he will kill Tyr, but if i beat on someone(s) i'll say maybe Mimir, or maybe he's simply upset with Atreus. Alose in 13:48 in your video, we can see Kratos holding Mimir's head.

at 4:22 there's no way in helheim that Tyr doesn't know it's Kratos. The biggest give away IMO that Tyr knows all about Kratos is mainly that vase in his temple, and it's far fetched to believe that he would refer to him as "god killer" in reference to Magni and Modi

A cool detail I noticed in the trailer. At 00:30 in the trailer (not this video), the camera angle is strategically placed so that the Blade is covering Tyr’s right hand, forshadowing that he will lose it to Fenrir (or someone) at some point in the story. Awesome cinematography.

Here’s my theory for Atreus’ secret: It’s kind of creative writing ish but I think would be pretty cool coming from Atreus. What if the secret he’s keeping from Kratos is the fact that he made an oath with Odin ensuring that Kratos would be safe during and after Ragnarok. I came to this conclusion because of the fact that Atreus is worried about his dad’s safety and wants to protect him from harm. Ik this is kind of contradictory considering Odin must be worried about Kratos and most likely wants to kill him, but Atreus probably has something that Odin wants.

So because of atreus’ line about who’s gonna keep kratos safe I think Odin comes to him and tells him about the mural kratos saw at the end of the last game. Odin probably tried to convince Atreus that the only way to stop that from happening is to stop what they’re doing in perpetuating ragnarok. Or he shares a plan with Atreus that makes him believe everyone can win in the situation etc but he can’t tell his father. Edit add-on: this is gonna be frustrating if I’m right (in a good way tho lol) cuz he doesn’t know that kratos already knows and it’s gonna cause conflict and this and that and this and that. Man I can’t wait lol

I think the scene when Odin appears infront of Atreus, it foreshadows the fact how Athena tried to play with Kratos' mind and in similar way Odin might try to influence and manipulate Atreus.

Here are some of the interesting Theories I cherrypicked from the GOW community forum 1. If you notice the wooden dummy in the start menu of the first game, Kratos is missing an eye, just like Odin. So are they both the same father figure for Loki? 2. Kratos and Loki will have a misunderstanding causing them to part ways, though Mimir previously warned about Odin's trickery 3. Freya will initially be antagonic towards the father-son duo, but there will be a twist causing her to loathe Odin; probably after seeing Baldur in Valhalla 4. The real antagonist of Ragnarok is yet to be revealed (I don't think it's Thor). But personally, I think it's Kratos himself who will destroy the whole Norse pantheon. 5. Kratos will not die, but Tyr will (As per the last Jötunheim Mural). This is one big reason why Loki will part ways with Kratos

My first thought when I saw the jellyfish was that it could be the Lyndwyrm, something Cory mentioned after GoW 2018 came out, being in Alfheim as well, makes me wonder if we are going to see Faye there

Mimir may have been taken by Odin in placed in another tree like we saw in the Jotunheim Mural, and that's why he's noticeably absent through most of the trailer.

I think the armored enemy that we saw is from asgard, because we can see , at his axe, a rainbow energy glowing. I believe the rainbow energy is from byfrost and this represent asgard forces.

In the mythology, Farbauti is killed by his son, Loki when he attempts to kill Odin when Loki does not yet want it to happen. Kratos is depicted as Farbauti in Jotnar murals - I think Atreus fears that this prophecy may come true if he discloses his pact with Odin. The theme of Patricide is very common in the GoW universe, but I think Atreus is wise enough to end it.

I think their 2 dog team is skoll and Hati and they're unknowingly raising them. Since they are in the time thor smacked Jörmungandr backward through time, it would make sense Odin has not cast the wolves yet and atreus will

The way they are adding old games moves and tricks back can be a way to depict that kratos is getting back to his old self and becoming the same ruthless god killer he once was, and i guess it can be triggered by something that happens to atreus... And like gaia in GOW3 here he has the aid of Freya against Asgard!

@kaptainKuba I think Odin knew Baulder would bring Ragnorak and knew Freya would do anything to protect him so he knew his sons curse would break by sending him to his death. While also keeping Freya at bay and not a threat made her warrior spirit tied to Baulders life making it so she couldn’t fight as long as he was alive

As we see that at 4:45 Tyr was kneeling down, according to me Tyr would be killed by someone here before Kratos manages to save him. Also in the other trailer we see Kratos without the blades of chaos for some time I think he must have given Tyr the blades to help him fight with Kratos because at 13:58 we see Tyr holding the blades of chaos.

As to your 1st point about Are touching the tree most people don't remember and I haven't seen anyone else comment on it but in the 1st game they go to find one of the Jot rune stones and it's blank until Atr touches it. In fact Kratos thows it away and Atr catches it and that's when the Rune reveals itself. There were hints all through the first game about Atr touching Jot based objects and them responding to his touch based on his heritage and that's why the room reveal wasn't unexpected.

I watched the trailer and my hands are literally shaking. I cannot wait for the full release of the game.

i am pretty sure that what atreus was doing was just re securing the protective area around their house, it left no yellow mark cause the yellow marks were the signatures to what trees to cut, not the spell itself

i think the dark rune in tyr’s temple has something to do with atreus able to reveal secrets hidden in/under things or objects

Ive had a crazy thought so looking at the Jotnar Edition of the game and what it comes with i was studying the vinyl cover and it shows what looks to be Atreus and Angraboda so it got me thinking about a few things, 1. Could this be a representation of those 2 in Jotunheim in the past( which would explain how all three of their Children are present in the current timeline) and I know many would wonder how would it be a past Jotunheim and thats where another part of whats included in the Jotnar edition comes into play and thats Draupnir the ring It lets the wearer travel between the nine realms ( which would let Atreus travel to the past) now for the bag it comes in it could be a symbol to signify Kratos ( He is From Sparta) and how Angraboda goes and pulls him from where every he was and brought him to Midgar ( This comes from the story where Kratos was Attacked by 3 wovles and a hooded woman (I believe the woman was Angraboda and not Faye as he meets her for the first time and they do battle in midgar). Another thing to think about is Who blew the horn with the fact that Tyr's temple and Bridge are in all 9 realms that means so too is the horn to call the World serpent which could give more credence to the possibility of someone else calling the serpent we know he speaks a dead tongue yet is from the future could he be called by someone in another realm ( the Serpent spans all of Midgar i would believe he would be able to hear the horn even if it was from another realm) another thing to think on is Mimir states someone called the serpent but never states that he is being talked with

If you look closely when you see Kratos grappling you can see him holding the leviathan axe and one of his blades of chaos. Maybe we will get a feature where we can dual wield the blades and leviathan?

Hey Captain Kuba I wanted to ask you about something relating DURLIN and Tyr's hand. Within these 2 story trailers we only see Durlin for once and not again but in the time we do see him, he is seen with some kind of octopus (sea creature) on him. In the latest reveal we see a giang see creature resembling the one on Durlin is seen. Do you think it is the same creature? And 2nd, it is widely known that Tyr sacrifices his hand to trap Fenrir with a magic chain but we didnt get anything relating to this very topic in any of the reveals whatsoever. I know SMS kind of twists and turns the stories but I am %100 SURE that this "act of selflessness" will be incorporated to the story in some degree, how will it be incorporated to the story?
