Neither should Hekapoo from Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but many Star Fans still ship her with Marco or Tom and imagine her having babies with them because half-Hekapoo babies are cool now. I don't think anyone in the Magic High Commission even can breed because Glossaryck artificially created them with magic. April 7, 2020, 3:08pm I imagined how Hekapoo pregnancy could work in SVTFOE, and I thought it out just the same as Rose Quartz in Steven Universe. One could make some magic spell to give Hekapoo reproductive organs, but if Hekapoo really did try to breed with Marco (when he is overage on Earth and not just the Neverzone), Hekapoo and her child can not both exist at the same time because Hekapoo's kid needs magic to live, same as her. Sadly, only a miscarriage can save Hekapoo's life.

Helen totally told that lady off. I would have loved that scene in the movies. Too many homemakers, housewives/househusbands, and stay-at-home parents get criticized and mocked for their decisions.

Its out of place in this time of day. Usually its single career women who are told that their lives are unfulfilling unless they get married and have kids. The only time homemaker husbands are mocked is because most people tell them that they are lowering their potential by playing the "woman's role". Also, Helen almost outed her self by storming across a yard to lecture a woman who wasn't even speaking to her. Yeah she doesn't agree with the woman, but she wasn't mocking her to her face anyway.

BishtrainerTai16 I wouldn’t say out if place. While that situation does happen so do situations where people are mocked for raising their own kids and being home makers. While that situation might happen more it doesn’t mean the opposite doesn’t happen or is any less demeaning than the other extreme. Yeah but that doesn’t mean that was a bad thing, she just could’ve used a better choice of words but the overall point is a good one. Yeah she wasn’t speaking to her but she was demeaning her choice of lifestyle within a earshot of her, You don’t expect people to take that type of shit. Oh yes being insulted behind your back is TOTALLY better than being insulted to your face.

Keeping the Snug scene cripples Violet as a character. She has the exact right amount of guilt in the movie as stands. It can be resolved in one scene; because, her failure to save the plane isn't responsible for anything permanent. You'd have to dwell on it more when you get to the island.

The studio probably found it way too dark, which was supposed to be the whole point. Also, the fact that Snug is never brought up again, especially in the sequel really feels like a missed opportunity.

I do agree with them changing the opening, but I like how they show how much Helen really cares about her family and how much being a mother means to her and how much of a strong maternal figure she is in the film.

Poor Snugg. I guess I can see what Brad means about having a death. Violet's guilt for not being able to put up a shield makes a lot more sense, here. Poor girl probably feels responsible for his demise, and Helen has to console her. But later on, in the cave, Helen talks to the kids about how "These villains mean business, they will KILL you if you give them the chance", it may not have shown the danger face-on, but was still very chilling and impactful in getting the point across. (also, saw 999 likes and got to be the one bringing it yo 1,000! :D Yay! )

Damn I can see how hard it was to let go of Snug. Heck he was going to be let go half way through the movie anyway. But even with all these choices, it'd good to see he was passionate about everything was willing to take risks and make sacrifices.

I do hope Brad finds a way to re-work the alternate opening into the sequel. I think it's safe to say that a huge hunk of us fans want to see *Baby Violet* in a flashback.

Honestly, the alternate opening is a great set up for a prequel. Start with Bob and Helen developing there powers as kids. They meet as teenagers. Grow up fall in love, but someone: Helen's ex, jealous guy or someone interferes instead of Syndrome and tries to take Violet. Maybe see Dash grow up too. Get on it Brad Bird.

All these deleted scenes give a very different feeling to the movie. It seems more of an old family drama. I'm glad they cut them, but I did like the moment where Syndrome goes to baby Violet, very unsettling.

The Snug scene makes that crash so much sadder, and Dash saying "we're dead" suddenly goes from being kind of a humorous but understandable reaction to a traumatic moment

I think the original opening with Helen telling that woman off was a good scene the whole thing with Syndrome seemed out of place since in this draft of the story, he wasn't the main antagonist and this would be the last time we'd even see the guy.

4:59 I totally prefer the alternate opening. I don't hate The Incredibles, the rest of the plot was pretty good and I liked it like any other Brad Bird fan, but with the alternate opening, it makes the movie even MORE Brad Bird and 150% better. Maybe he could reuse that alternate opening for Incredibles 2, coz I really, REALLY want him to use this very powerful, meaningful scene

When I had the Incredibles DVD as a kid, I loved watching Brad Bird talk about these deleted sequences and his thought process behind them. Does anyone know of other films (animated or otherwise) which have intensive breakdowns of deleted/extended scenes or other things like this?

In Helen’s Nightmare, Mr. Incredible was wearing a pair of rounded goggles. This pair resembles the Hypno Goggles used by Screenslaver to brainwash him in the sequel. Coincidence? I think not!

In some of the early concept art, Mr. Incredible wore goggles rather than a domino mask with his original costume. (Not sure if the whole family would’ve worn goggles, though, since they’re maskless in art from that same period.)

I could understand cutting things like the Alternate Opening and Snug, but why they left out the Bob in Traffic scene perplexes me. It would've been good enough to add to the final film, I think. It would be a subtle enough change of pace from the jewelry store scene.

That barbecue scene was interesting. I mean, on the surface level of face value, it was definitely too gruesome for PG age-level kids to see Mr. Incredible pretend his fingers were bleeding. Below the surface level, it breaks the flow of the movie's story if we have to see another 8 minutes in the middle of the 15-year time skip for 2 reasons. 1, it was a little fun to see baby Violet, before we see all three kids, but what story purposes did this scene serve? 2, why do we need to see Syndrome here before he has a second post-Incrediboy encounter with Bob on the island when Bob meeting him on the island was supposed to be a surprise like they were seeing each other again for the first time in 15 years? I don’t know why I’m posting a comment to a video that is from 2013 so no one is gonna see this, but whatever. Anyway, I think it’s good that they cut these scenes. I feel like if they were in then the movie would have felt off and would have dragged on unnecessary. Also that scene with Bob and Helen arguing because she thinks he is cheating on her feels weird and also would make Bob more of an a-hole for not telling her about his hero work. Anyway I’m done, no one is gonna see this comment. P.S. Incredibles 2 was LIT AF I’m sorry, I got carried away a little bit

31:42 i remember seeing that one deleted scene where as a kid and i was like what?!! Looking back at it. It was a good idea deleted that out cause kids back then wouldn't get that and parents would be getting a bit to controversial. Also how the hell did they get away with a racist joke on that one adventure of Mr.incredible short with the commentary where frozone was complaining that they made him a white guy.

Does anybody know why some of the storyboards have the actual voice actors but some don't?

Storyboards are made pretty early on in the film making process, so they don't usually have the actors cast yet. They'll have stand-ins provide the voice so that the rest of the production team can have an idea of the pacing that the finished product will have. Measure twice, cut once and all that.
