She had health problems which resulted in her weight gain. She had hypothyroidism. She needed thyroid tablets to regularise her low thyroid levels.

I knew it! This is Oh My Venus. Kang Joo Eun isn't ugly. She was the Venus of her town growing up. She wasn't trying to win over the CEO, she didn't know he was to become a CEO until late in the series. I think he was scared of how she'll react when she finds out. Thanks for the recap😊 I loved this series. I binged it throughout a week I think

I know that they made up and everything was fine but him proposing to the next girl so quickly is the exact reason why you shouldn't wait 15 years for somebody to propose to you... Within a year of them being together he did that shit.

Yeah, but let’s hope that your personal trainer/boyfriend is loving you too at your fattest. What I find redeeming is that there is a real illness behind her “fatness” and this should be the focus of her healthier lifestyle. What is find redeeming too is that also the pretty model girlfriend that her ex is dating isn’t that perfect. She also has her insecurities, is very jealous, strict and has medical issues. None of them are any less of a woman, fat, skinny, frumpy, elegant, warm, cold, nonchalant, strict, fertile or less fertile. That the ML is a mess with lots of trauma, disease and painkiller addiction is redeeming. He looks handsome, fit and rich, but is just as lacking as the FL. There is a lot of backstory and character development with all these young people struggle what society and family wants from them. What is important that when it is time to go home, there are supporting friends, girlfriends, boyfriends or family members there that can make you feel safe and relaxed. Even when those persons look more cushioned than society finds beautiful.

Once the heroin lost the weight and they become a couple, the storyline went straight to the drain with TOO MUCH aegyo. There's something very disturbing into watching people well into their mid- thirties, mid-forties doing aegyo every 10 minutes. Also Coach-nim's storyline is way more interersting that the female lead's storyline. Plus, the overuse of flashbacks for things you've just seen is annoying as hell.
