This isn’t based on any true story. The director/writer of the original 2018 Danish version said he was influenced by a KZfaq video he saw of an emergency dispatch recording and how immersed he was from only the audio.

God damn its rare when a movie actually has a good plot twist especially one as fucked up as this one has. Like it builds up to it to make you want to root for the mother but then you basically have the chairlegs kicked out from under you leaving you stupified. It really plays off that almost instinctual habit every human being has to want to side with the mother even if you don't have all the facts.

I knew something was was not right right from the beginning. I mean how could a ‘kidnapee’or the person who claims to be kidnapped be having and talking on the phone comfortably without the notice of the kidnapper? I don’t really comments on Story Recaps but the plot twist in this movie is 🔥

I don't think it's the same either, but I think that desperate times call for desperate measures, and in those crucial seconds, the cop just instinctually brought up the story of his own fatal mistake to relate to her feelings of guilt for taking a life, in doing his best to try to convince Emily not to jump.

Why does it say "Based On True Story" when it is not based on a true story? And the ending sentences are also made up to give the false impression that it is based on a true story. There was no Joe Baylor case in real live
