Through her talk, Dr. Vats sheds light on the importance of storytelling, especially in the lives of growing children, and why it is an avenue parents must emphasize. She delves into the legacies of late parenting experts, and why their unconventional methods of teaching are best suited to the 21st-century world. Dr. Vats is a globally awarded early years leader and serves as the founder President of the Early Childhood Association India and the Association for Preparatory Education and Research. As President of the Podar Education Network, she leads over 490 preschools and daycares in India, UAE, and Qatar. She is also a consultant, advisor, and series editor for the Cambridge International Early Years program. In her career spanning over 35 years, Swati has authored more than 35 books for parents, teachers, and children, including traditional rhymes and fairy tales that she has adapted to be more suitable for today’s child. Her most recent works include two books on Coding for Children and books on educators like Gijubhai, Froebel, and Vygotsky. Dr. Vats has coined the term ‘Kiducation’ for early childhood teachers and parents to help them understand that young children need education from the point of view of their development. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Respected Swati ma'am, I am always excited to listen to you and thanks to Ted Talks for giving us that opportunity again. The main takeaway from the Ted talk for me that- How stories make an impact on children's brains, not only for a particular period but also have a lifelong impact. We can make each subject more interesting by using stories because every subject has stories. Ma'am also mentions that every part of the brain lights up through listening to stories. I also learned about the importance of story-based learning at all levels of schooling for all subjects. Stories release such amazing hormones from our body like oxytocin and serotonin. Thank you so much ma'am! Proud to be a part of Podar Family. Sujata Mane from Podar Prep Ambejogai.
