The first step to creating inspirational storytelling for advertising is finding a storytelling structure that fits the brand. The hero’s journey is a common storytelling template for advertising, which can be summarized in 3 key steps:
✍️ Normal life with a call to adventure
✍️ Transformation
✍️ Rebirth.
I recognize the hero’s journey in most storytelling, whether it be for books, movies, or motion design adverts. It’s especially interesting for advertising because we are explicitly showing the viewer how the product/service will help the viewer’s life.
