My daughter was prescribed compensatory prism lenses by our general optometrist for her strabismus, but then we took her to a developmental optometrist who prescribed a different prism, and I had no idea what the difference was between them, he just said it was different than the one our family Optometrist prescribed. It didn’t occur to me to ask him how it is different. I took her back to the family Optometrist to get the new prescription filled, and he explained that the developmental had prescribed prisms where it’s base down shifting her vision downward, while he had originally prescribed compensatory prisms. I was even more confused about what that meant. Your video cleared it all up for me and I feel a lot better about the fact that she’s going to be wearing therapeutic prisms instead of compensatory ones as we prepare to get her started in Vision Therapy. Ive been doing vt for over a year now. I have improved sooo much. But its still exhausting every day, the doctor wants to try prism now. Im afraid of wasting a year of very hard work with therapy. Ive never had the surgery i get too many different answers fro various doctors. Your videos have been very helpful throughout my journey

Longstanding comitant esotropia bilateral recession coming up Really don't know what to expect post-op.. Also starting a new job 2 weeks after surgery. have had cross eyes since childhood, now in late 60s Never knew it could be fixed . Excited and ready for the challenge .

I already had two surgeries, I've never had prisms before until now. I guess at age 36, this doctor wanted to see if prisms would be a better option, especially since Medicaid hates paying for these types of things. The first surgery lasted for like 21 years, the second lasted for like 2.5 before they started crossing and doing double vision again.

What type of surgery did you have first prior to vision therapy?

I have strabismus but have a very mild set of symptoms. One eye dominant my near field vision and i don't get any double vision. I have prism glasses. Is it still worth being concerned about needing more prism over tome if yor symptoms are mild? Thanks

does prism glass make the eyes clear?

Just ordered prism for right eye only 2 DO. I see double driving so won't wear them not driving. Cars double and split apart wide so been driving flickering left eye and only drive right lane short distances no freeway. Hope the glasses help.

My optometrist says therapy will be of no use to me as i had the eyr turn as a child. Is this true? Prism really helps but i'm not sure if vision therapy would be a better option before surgery.

Hi there🙂, my child is 4 years old and has intermittent exotropia, can it be treated well while using the eyeglass.

Sorry to contradict you, but your insert shot of you when your eyes were not coordinating together showed your eyes pointing outwards by quite a lot. They clearly were not pointing in as you had explained.

I am in my 70s and see 1 and a half of things Usually I see through my left eye basically I had surgery when 15 Mos old in 1951 The doctor did not fully do the other eye correctly and wanted to schedule another operation for the eye he got wrong Long story short my parents opted for glasses because they did not want me to go through another operation And they had been told by another Dr that glasses and eye exercises eventually would correct my problem ( The eye Dr we were seeing for me must have told them not to have me do the exercise until old enough I did do them later around 7 Yrs old but they never helped) I realize you are not a Dr however would a prism work for someone like me at all? I am willing to do therapy and can spare once a week Anyway just wondering if this would help me? I have done artwork and gotten a couple awards and used to teach piano However, spacing and getting things right in artwork is difficult for me and always has been Well???
