Hungarian people made the right decision! US is doing it’s own benefit while Ukraine people are dying and sufferings. To note, there is a big war, US make more money, bigger war can make larger money, this is fact.

As American intelligence was reporting on the massing of soldiers, Zelensky was berating the US for alarmist warnings. He got enlightened once the Russians invaded. Hungary may not be a target like Moldova, but needs to be prepared by building better relationships with NATO members. Putin is a man of peace. He has taken "peaces" of Georgia, Crimea, inserted little green men into Donetsk, Luhansk. He has also declared that Ukraine is an artificial country. Poisoned many folks. It cannot be sweet nothings anymore by European leaders.

Actually, the military indstrial complex isn´t making as much money as it could be making out of this war, because Biden doesn´t actually want Ukraine to win the war. What we´re seeing here is more a result of Biden´s incompetence than the American people pursuing its geostrategic interests in Ukraine, even though we do benefit from a weak Russia.

Im an American and i saw an interview between Tucker Carlson and Hungary’s PM. Its refreshing to see a politician with rational and reasonable views fir governing. I want to look into moving there with my kids. The US is unsafe and our terrible politicians are the cause. I dont agree with the MSM view of the Ukraine/Russia conflict. I love this post so thank you very much for sharing. Praying for peace. ❤️🙏

I miss traveling and i want my kids to meet people outside the States. i think we should get out of the states to see other countries to meet people and not listen to biases we are told. seems a lot (not all) of americans just want to believe what the MSM tells us is the truth but i dont think that is the case.

NATO is a political and military alliance, whose principal task is to ensure the protection of its citizens and to promote security and stability in the North Atlantic area. @@dulkazizi You forgetting something or didn't learn your history lesson... in 1956 the Revolution was against the Soviet Union... what's included Ukraine... also the troops what was sent to break the Revolution... not only Russians... The other thing you forgetting is, the West, mainly America didn't care about it... no help was coming... just empty words... The Soviets left... but came back as they made a deal with America about the Suez crisis... and a guarantee to not getting involved to help to the Hungarians... "America has no friends, just interests"... definitely not in Eastern Europe...

Then when the Soviet officer went back to the USSR our own dear Hungarian security service took over, and the hangings begun. I don't think you understand anything. I'm from Poland and here in Poland we know well enough how "sweet" is "Russian love". We have survived harsh Russification while partitions and then communist-Russian occupation behind the Iron Courtain. We won't be enslaved that way again. And Ukrainians have faced the same amount of a "Russian caresses": domination and Great Hunger in 1930's. They know what does it mean to be enslaved by Russians and don't want to experience that once again. They know their dignity. With Slavic nations it is rather simple: when we once understand what freedom is we won't go back under the occupation. It is more than teritory that's at stake here. There is the question of preserving culture, independence and the right to choose your own as a nation. Ukrainians have a right to exist, to live, to thrive. 🇵🇱❤️🇺🇦

But I recommend a different strategy: insteqd of being convinced about your "arguments" read some history and talk to people who know more about Polish-Russian complicated relationship... They aren't our brothers in a sense you would like to give it. We have a right to choose our path and our destiny. And about following democracies... Poland had a democracy before Western countries... The political system dating from XV c. was called demokracja szlachecka (noblemen democracy) and predated Western ideas a few centuries. BTW choosing Western Civilization Poland made a good decision in year 966 as many Western Slavic nations. We aren't bound to stick with Russians. We shape our destiny in our own way.

This was an amazing interview, a great insight into perspective and logical thinking by the Hungarian foreign minister and honestly this is probably the first interview I've seen in regards to the conflict, where the journalist doesn't constantly interrupt the guest and lets them finish their sentences. Really great interview!

I'm not saying that they should involve in conflict but india is away and nothing to do with European conflicts.. but Hungary being a European nation should be concerned what's happening in Ukraine cause it's their neighborhood.. India has a neutral position because it has good relations with Russia and it doesn't affect our interests but on the contrary if a war of similar manner was waging let's say Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka or central Asia would we have a neutral position? absolutely not we would have been supporting one party or another through any means possible

I saw many of those students at Lonya refugee center on March 5th. Along with the Red Cross colleagues I worked with that night, we were happy to assist transport them to Záhony and then Budapest.

Not possible, the president and all US politicians are controlled by the rich, military and oil company, where as truly good governance, leadership is a true representation of the people, not just the 1% of the elite. You might not like it but India and China government are more true representation of their people. Good for both countries as they do what is best for their own people, not just the best of another countries that is thousands of miles away from their shores.

As a Pole I know that despite the vast differences between people's worldviews (strong political dualism in our society!) we all share the same opinion on this war. This is something rare in Poland and it shows that in vital points we stand united. We don't have second thoughts - just do what we believe is needed (no matter if a left or a right- wing citizens): organizing humanitarian aid, sharing our money and our households, taking care of refugee-children in our schools and providing all sorts of help. I don't know the person (in my family, at work or in the neighbourhood) who wouldn't do something to help. And it's like this in the smallest villages and the biggest cities! How do you - not as politicians, but regular Hungarian citizens - see the situation? Compassion? BTW, don't you see that not only Ukrainian people desperately need support, but also Ukraine defeated is an open door to USSR 2.0? Don't you feel not only that a sovereign nation has a right to exist independently, but also without Ukraine Russia is dangerously close to your borders?

The Hungarian situation well explained Mr Szijjártó, and I couldn't agree more with the stance Hungary takes in this volatile situation. It is very tempting to jump to conclusions and side with one or the other of the opponents when a war begins, and it is always the more difficult path to side resolutely with peace. May God protect you and all Hungarians who elected such a level headed and brave government as yours.
