I was started on Prozac when it first came out in 1987. For me it was a life changer!! I was on it for 10 years before it stopped working, then switched to Celexa which worked for about the same amount of time. I had no side effects from it, actually lost a little weight. A few years ago I became treatment resistant to meds and TMS has been my treatment of choice; it literally saved my life.

I gained 10 pounds in a month on 10mg of this medication . I could not stay on it because it made me feel numb. No motivation. I feel so much better off of this medication. Plus I’m losing that 10 pounds I gained. I will never take another SSRI again.

Number and weight gain here too but i love the extra weight as ive always been underweight so i frel and look healthy and not malnourished anymore. Numbing and insomnia are the 2 worst parts for me

I had to quit my vitamins now when I take prozac. I get hyper and more stressed by them. Both by zinc and d vitamin.

I took it for 4 weeks 10 mg i was drinking 10 to 15 glasses of water a day i tried the 20 mg that was too strong then my Doctor brought me back to 10 it felt like i was having heart attack and everything was shutting down it scared me

I’m taking this medication for 5 days now after taking peroxetine that caused me intolerable side affects. Prozac is much better even though it caused me itch, slightly sensitive skin, and I think it worsened my vision a little bit. But all these are tolerable and better for me than being nauseous and tired all the time. I’m starting at 10mg.

Hi. Question Effexor Xr I believe is making me wired and jittery, and I am tapering off, my doctor is considering Prozac for taper, but I’m scared it also has a wired component to it. Any suggestions? I literally sometimes feel with Effexor that I have 5 cups of coffee on me. Thanks hope to hear back from you.

Effexor almost killed me I started on 37.5 dr said it wasn't working upped to 75 same thing made me worse hit 150mg and was in full physchosis

No, there is not a contraindication to prescribing both Prozac and Wellbutrin at the same time. However, more medicines = more side effects. Dr. Rob

I went back on it 3 days ago 20mg. After not taking it for 20ish years. Does your body create receptors in the brain for it. I was having heightened anxiety yesterday. Now today so far. A lot more even feeling then yesterday.

ive been on 5 mg prozac for 20 yrs + for panic/anxiety/depression and it helped maintain my symptoms but not eliminate but i cant tolerate meds - fast forward to today, i just spent the last 5 yrs caring for mom and dad and they both died - mom just 3 months ago and i decided to try TMS and after 7 weeks of daily treatment for anxiety/depression, my anxiety became severe....so now its been 1 week on upping prozac to 10mg - im hoping that it will qualm my severe 24/7 anxiety - i never had that shaking anxiety until i did TMS but it might just be the grief but obviously TMS did nothing for me at the very least......i hope the prozac helps me - only issue is i can no longer cry or grieve on this 10mg dosage.....not sure that is healthy and if it will come back to haunt me.

I was on 10mg and was finally feeling less anxious overall. Then.... she bumped me to 20. Dude, this shit Is eliminating my energy and if I'm not taking my Adderall, I feel like a zombie. I'm super non productive bc I'm actively fighting sleep, this is one week on 20. I honestly don't want to keep dealing with this feeling for 3 more weeks to MAYBE start feeling the positive effects. The 10 REALLY helped take the edge off my anxiety and I could finally see the world around me instead of always being my head....to an extent bc I am ADHD lol its like with the 20mg, my Adderall is setting me NEAR to my normal energy level and of course helping me stick with routine and complete tasks. I guess I'm sensitive bc within the 1st week I was feeling really chill for once. But now I'm so chill I want to do nothing outside of work which I feel will lead me into depression.

If you feel 10mgs is sufficient then you can talk to your doctor about it. For me I have had terrible insomnia with 20mgs where with 10mgs I slept better than I have in years.

It makes you vomit and get very drowsy and messes with your heart rate, it can kill you but that’s very rare. You need to take about 1,500 mg to overdose which would be difficult to do. It’s one of the safest SSRI’s.

Hey! I have been taking 10 mg of Prozac for about 4 days now for panic disorder and my anxiety has been so much worse. I’ve also been noticing heart palpitations the last couple days. Is this normal?

Yes its normal. I had worse anxiety for about 5 to 6 days and from day 7 i feel much better and im on day 10 now.

@@samzub Hello! So I was on the 10 mg for about 5 weeks and was not improving at all, so I was prescribed 20mg and that was the best thing I could have done! I also go to therapy :)

Depression should be called " americation" I never seen any ppl more depressed than the ppl from the country number 1. Even in Africa, in India even in South America, all those regions together there are less depressed people than USA.

All the side effects indicate that these pills are nothing more than poison. Doctors don’t inform patients about the horrific symptoms that you have to go through when they crap out and you have to get off of them. I was on Zoloft for about 3 months and it made my anxiety spike. I went through night terrors, anxiety, deep depression, burning sensations, akathesia just to name a few while on it. Then when I got off it my doctor took me off with out tapering and put me on benzos. That made me worse. I went into PAWS withdrawal that lasted over 4 years. All phych meds are poison. Stay away from them at all cost. My original problem was that I had a little trouble with social anxiety. That’s all.
