Daniel Lim became the sole caregiver to both his parents in 2009, when his father Peter was diagnosed with dementia, and mother Elizabeth with breast cancer. Despite his initial struggles with his new role, he found success in empowering his father through his daily routine, and making improvements to his home to make it more dementia-friendly.
His caregiving journey also prompted him to co-found Enable Asia, to provide support to people with dementia and their caregivers.
For Daniel, his model of ‘personalised care’ helped to slow down his father’s dementia progression, and has brought his family closer together.
