Жыл бұрынHi! Late in the evening I came to the dugout! The road through the dark snow-covered forest was not easy! In the dugout, as always dry and warm! Warmed up the dugout to 40 °C. A heavy snowfall caught me in the dugout! I had to spend 2 days in it. My plans for these days were to bring comfort to the dugout: paint the door and table, prepare firewood, clean the dugout from snow. I'm sharing with you a delicious recipe for pot roast! It's very tasty! See you again, friends!

Doesn't look like he did without much -time to cut fuel etc -wasn't that bad a storm -he had time to prepare ! Heavy snow -we had more in NW England than that in one day !

Now that is a proper dugout!! I’ve watched a lot of camping in the snow channels and every once and awhile I’ll find someone with a proper dugout or shelter and you are one of those precious finds!

I recently lived in a log cabin, on the West Coast of Canada for a year. I must say that your shelter was far more practical and well thought out then the one that I recently stayed in! Bluntly, I froze my ass off as the original builders did not build it for West Coast winter occupancy! Lesson learned very well, which is why I am watching videos like this. I really love watching these type of videos and I often imagine my cabin having carpet, a small flatscreen, radio and a nice mattress. Just a home away from home and all the bustle of everyday life, relaxing with a book and some music.

Not me I want a big flat screen lol and an antenna in the top of a tree for utube and netflix. I'm retired and old so a Yamaha snowmobile is a must for winter and a YJ Jeep for summer. I have a YJ so...... I'm prejudiced against other jeeps. I think 800w in solar panels should do the trick. The important thing is to keep it hidden as possible. I would point the front door at a cliff face or a big boulder. Well I really liked your comment so I had to comment.

@@sammythompson3694 I would want a hidden one too, bigger than this probably 2 or 3 times the size, I'd want room for a computer setup, a t.v. a fridge, bed and mini kitchen setup, I'd have a compartment with an air vent for a generator and a sound proofed door (so I don't have to hear it, I'd try and find a real quiet one), plus an air vent in the main area, probably a wood heater too.

@@SilentHotdog28 instead of hauling gasoline for a generator use a propane generator and a 3 element propane wall heater in case there is a blizzard outside, you don't have enough wood and a good movie is on Netflix.

The thing I like about this program is if you need to use some birdies place in a situation. Leaving better than you found and like I've seen some wood for them or the next person ready use is woundful. I was always told when you go anywhere especially into Nature. Leave it better than you found it. 😁

FYI - You should Keep the Wood Ash from your Fire. Before leaving the Dugout for awhile sprinkle the Wood ash on the floor. As it deters Insects and small critters like Mice.

Awesome job! Great little "getaway"! ..it would be different doing that here in Alabama. I'd have to use treated lumber. There are a lot of insects(spiders, ants, crickets. & especially Termites!) Also moisture is a problem. .. but love what you're doing! Congrats!👍👊
