the tone in bf2042 is all over the place but i think this song nailed what the rest of the soundtrack’s tone should have been. it’s eerie and off-putting, but also hopeful in a weird way. to me the end of this song says “hell yeah, we kicked their asses! maybe there’s still hope for us after all.”, which is what i think the other songs should’ve gone for

@@sodadrink8363 its more of a mainstream track which is why many praise this song. which is ok, as it captures a different kind of feeling to the other music and is in no way whatsoever a worse track, but what makes the old tracks special to me is how they arent hopeful _at all._ maybe its just a difference of perspective but my view of 2042s world is that its actually, literally hopeless. climate change has ravaged the world and will only get worse, and does it wake humanity up, band us together or make us head in a greener direction? no. it makes us fight eachother like dogs, using weapons that pump more fumes into the air just further solidifying the fate that awaits. breakaway is set in the antarctic and the levolution feature of the map according to the wiki is “destroy oil tanks to create permanent fires”… in the _already melting antarctic._ if that doesnt show just how screwed humanity is, idk what will haha stranded is top tier _combat_ music, but 2042s music wasnt good due to its combativeness. i get people just want a mindless shooter so wanting kickass music makes sense, but from an artistic perspective 2042s soundtrack is pure genius and one of the greatest soundtracks in history, i honestly believe. its a soundtrack that acts as a warning as to whats _actually coming already_ for us irl, with some of the worst weather weve ever seen in human history across the globe

@@sodadrink8363 and just to clarify, i dont really care about or consider the actual game itself. i dont play the game and couldnt even if i wanted to (which i do haha) due to microtransactions, but every modern game nowadays bar games from studios with actual soul such as god of war and last of us (that those of us on pc and xbox dont even have access to lol) has compromised integrity. halo infinite has cat ears and a battle pass, call of duty has ghostface and snoop dogg as playable characters as well as a battlepass, and every game from battlefield 4 upwards has microtransactions and 2042 obviously considers 128 clones of the same 15(ish) people running all at once to be realistic, as well as also having a battlepass haha. sams and hildurs soundtrack are above that. i care about the story theyre trying to tell, not eas executives

@@tomroper5967 stranded is rated pretty high on my favourite 2042 track list, but i dont think it works as well as the other music, thats all. ive already written why in response to someone else but stranded much like the other music is something i listen to a lot, its a real tune!

it just loops because match time changes depending how people play so it repeats to match with the games time its not an actual song with a timed ending kinda like how in doom and dying light 2 where the music changes to match with your action in the game

i don’t hate the vanilla track, but i feel like this is definitely an improvement over it, as some songs in the vanilla ost felt a bit repetitive and lacked a lot of flow. this one however feels both beautiful and aggressive but i still feel like the composers have yet to really reach their full potential because they are seriously some of the most talented artists when it comes to making fucked up sounding music that conveys feelings of hopelessness and dread

@@Zeegall i have played loads of battlefield 4 and bf1 for years. Bf4 is almost 10 years old, and im not joking when i say bf4 has better animations, feel and realism. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a fun game to play but compared to new shooters like cod mw2 it’s no where near as well made

This is a masterpeice compared to the scraping metal noises of other maps. But I agree battlefield 1 still has the most intense music ever.
